Re: Post Submissions Here!
Michelle, your choice of color always happily surprises me. You are such an artist in everything you do! Lots of really cool entries for this one. Like the spook house Jenna.

I used leaf yellow one stroke and mehron white and red a flat 3/4 brush, spouncer and a 0 round brush.
First I made holly leaves with then added red berries with a spouncer then a few swirls and highlights. Finish with stars and dots and more outlining in white and that is it. A simple holiday holly arm design Enjoy.

Wowzers! Awesome entries all around. It's going to be very hard only voting once.
Split Cake Fire Phoenix
I am so thrilled with split cakes and arty cakes, and raibow cakes that I have so many and am still learning to work with them so this challenge is perfect for me. I am dazzled by all the pros out there but I love reading the forum and wanted to contribute. I have never taken a workshop on the BIRD on the forhead but I think it is so lovely and graceful. These photos are the first ever bird I have done so please be forgiving...I was working as fast as I could at a fall festival when a girl saw this design in my inspiration folder...so I remembered my lesson from LaFete," Be brave, have confidence" and I explained to the girl that this would be a first and if she'd let me take pictures then I could share it as a step by step on the painters forum. She was very happy with that so, here we go:
Materials Used: Flat 1/2 in. brush, Paradise/ Mehorn Prisma Cake Flame/Fire, Diamond FX Black & White and Round #4 brush.
1. Start with a swirl or curly que in the center of the forehead (for the birds head) and drag a swipe down along one side of the nose for its neck.
2.. Lay down wavy sort of fire licks using "FlAME" colors above the eyebrows.
3. Accentuate significant lines with black .
I try to keep paints out of the eye area although the design might look more mask-like if it went right up to the eyeliner edge. Add white details, glitter etc...
4. Happy customer and me too!

That is a beautiful bird mask! The bird masks are one of my most asked for faces. Did a whole birthday party in bird masks once - every one a different color, but essentially the same design. They're popular with young and old. I wear a bird mask to a lot of my gigs. I've never done one with your colors but have been dreaming of one with flames for wings. I know it's been done before... I saw one recently. And another one with tribal wings.
LOVE how bold and powerful your bird is!

I haven't been on the Forum much lately, but I painted this and thought to make a step-by-step.
I am amazed by all the talent on the forum - and all the beautiful entries. Nice work!

Thank you Metina, and notice that I have found yet an other use for your Daisy split?
Re: Post Submissions Here!
I LOVE this Lonnie!!!! I saw it on your FB and the first thing I thought was, OMG you should have taken step by steps and put it in the challenge!!....and here it is!!! AWESOME.
Re: Post Submissions Here!
whoa , the mummy is amazing. I dig the heavy dark shading under the eyes which really make it look gaunt and the "holes" totally realistic....I am running to hide.
Good job!
Good job!
Thank you

What a great mummy! Very clever use of the Daisy one stroke. LOVE it. The shading you did is very cool and totally makes it. I bet you get a lot of requests for this one!
