wow all the dragons are great and look awesome

I am almost scared to post mine since I haven't done a dragon in years and never with facepaint. Same idea though so I gave it a try while we had a storm blow through. This is what I ended up with:

Oops. I forgot to say what paints I used so they are:

Wolfe white, black and green
Snaz grass green
Diguise stix orange and yellow

Where all were you wanting to go? Do you have anything lined up anywhere?

I haven't painted in a couple of months so keep that in mind. Thought this was a good way to jump in since the baby came.

In case it isn't as obvious as I hoped, it's a chinese type dragon

DFX red yellow black white
All different michaels brushes

I love this challenge so much...I decided to try one more...




tools used: sponges, round brush no 5 and chiselbrushes for shading
paints used: all diamond FX, pink, red, lightgreen, darkgreen, gold, white and black

step 1: sponge a base in pink and shade in red
step 2: sponge light green, shade in some dark green and highlight in gold
step 3: add black outline
step 4: add the chin (looked better) and add scales using some kind of orangenet
step 5: add more black detail
step 6: finish up the design with white dots

my kids say it looks more like a fish..my intention was to make a lady dragon...

I've never taught face painting before, but hope to some day. I used to teach art till the art school I taught at closed. Another death of art due to poor economy

Psalmbook, that is hard to hear. Art of any sort always seems to suffer first even though it is something that can carry people through the hardest of times and should remain a priority instaed of a luxury. I'm so sorry to hear that happened to you. (((hugs)))

thank you so much!..I used it for the very first time and indeed..it looks so good..plain colour over gold..or gold over plain colour..

Well I have officially lost my mind now. I am going to get fruit today when I go into town just so I can have the bag it comes in. OMGoodness! That just cracks me up. But Michelle, that just looks sooooo awesome I can't resist trying it out. Maybe on a butterfly? Hmmmmmm

Good job plawrie! My favorite details are the nose, mouth, and those jaw horns (I'm sure someone knows what they're called...). I'm also new and still find drawing character faces pretty hard. You have a nice roaring dragon.
