Re: Post Submissions Here!
Lovely! I am crazy about Zebra prints, if I had my way about it, my whole room would be done up in that print (with purple accents of course)! I like the red; it adds that little touch of color that just sets of the whole design.
OH! I think I finally have a good (?) idea for this challenge, just gotta finish the sketch and find a chance to get the pain on! Can't wait to participate in another competition agian, it's been far too long.

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Great submissions so far!
Here's another:-)
Paints:
DFX White
DFX Black
TAG Berry Splitcake
TAG Dolphin Splitcake
Tools:
1" Filbert Brush
Mark Reid #4 Round Brush
Mark Reid #6 Round Brush
Mark Reid Chisel Brush
Using a 1" Filbert Brush & TAG Berry Splitcake, make a heart with the Purple on the outside.
Using the 1" Filbert Brush & the TAG Dolphin Splitcake, Paint the wings one stroke at a time.
Using a #6 Round Brush, outline & accent the wings.
Using a chisel brush, pull the white paint in at the tips of the wings. Highlight the heart with white.
Using a #4 Round Brush Outline the heart & wings with black.
Accent with white & black dots.
You could stop the design here if you like the bold look.
Using a chisel brush, pull the black in at the tips of the wings. Using a #4 round & a wash of black paint(I use some dfx watered down in the lid of my paint) shade the wings. Shade around the heart. Using the wash add the cracks into the heart.
Using the #4 round & white add some more highlighting around the wings & around the heart as well as some accent dots. The goal is to give it dimension & depth.

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Okay! Here it is! It took me 4 tries to get it down! My sketches didn't exactly match up with MY face, lol. Decided to go with a bit of a tribal approach for this one, even though it's not really my strong suit. Here is my Tribal Phoenix:
Paint used:
-Wolf F/X: Red, Orange, Yellow, and Black
Brushes/sponges used:
-#6 round
-2 large half circle sponges (self-made)
And Viola! A Tribal Phoenix!

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Here's my feather themed painting
Using just 2 brushes, (#1 & #2 round) First I painted a white whispy background so the colors would pop..
next I started adding colored feathers... Dfx pink first.
I continued adding colored feathers until I got the look I wanted.. I used dfx yellow, light green, blue...
Dfx violet, metallix green & metallix fuchia
I then detailed in DFX black & added some stones..
then opulecent glitter!
