Re: Post Submissions Here!
Go Aussies!!! Synni, beautiful!!! Love the originality! Clever clever. BTW I'm soo jealous you have a twin sister to be your model!!
I've done something to go on someones arm or back. Of course I've done it on my leg...sorry bout all the freckles hehehe. There is so much I don't like about my line work, but if you don't look too closely......
oooo nearly forgot!!! I used all DFX paints. Metalic red, metalic blue, metalic gold, orange, light green, a smidge of dark green, white, black and a tiny bit of red, yellow and grey. I used two round brushes, number 2 and 0 and a small flat to help with some blending.

You go girls!
@synni - love the natural flow to your piece! Would be great for Mardi Gras!
@rae- very pretty, very good linework! AND I think I have metallic gold on the way and seeing this makes me very happy about that!
I can see the bar is already being raised!!!! Awesome! Can't wait to see more!

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Someone suggested I enter my peacock belly here. I did it last year, but have never entered it in any competitions. It was the 3rd belly I've ever painted.
I combined glitter tattoos with the painting because I wanted a very glamourous effect. It took 3 hours...I was new Anita!
Tools: I don't remember the exact size of brushes, but I used round and flat and Prosaide glitter glue in a lipgloss tube.
DFX Metallic palette was very helpful here The product you see most is from the DFX Metallic palette and other DFX essentials. After laying out an outline in white, the first element I detailed was the peacock's head. Then I spiraled out with the body, laid down the base for the feathers, outlined the feather 'eyes', painted the 'lines' for the feathers and then painted the wings last.
Base for feathers: Kryolan Interferenz Silver Green, DFX white to place where the glitter would go. I freehanded the glue starting with the centre 'eye' then built each colour step by step from the inside out.
Feathers: Glitter - purple, ocean spray, gold, emerald green. DFX Metallic green for the lines and then some Paradise light brown and DFX white for pin feathers and shadow.
Peacock head: DFX Metallic blue, DFX white, black, essential brown and a little paradise light brown for the beek and eye. DFX black, white and Paradise light brown for the lines in the head dress. Used dark blue and purple glitter for the fluffy bit at the top.
Body and wings: DFX Metallic green, black, white and Kryolan bronze & copper. This photo is before the wings were completed.
I learned an awesome tip on this forum when I did the glitter tattoo bit. Especially on the face there was a lot of 'overspray'. Someone here (I think it was Ashley) suggested using a lint roller and it worked awesome!
Here is the finished product:

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Teaching is great, it's just that I am getting the material from the other instructor (other campus) and she's getting it to me either the day before or a few days after I am supposed to have taught that module. Everyday I'm scrambling to get the lesson plan together. Next term will be much better!
