Re: Post Submissions Here!
Thanks so much! I'm sorta lucky in the canvas department.. I have 3 kids so i just grab one & bribe them with something to sit still for a bit, lol
Re: Post Submissions Here!
Yeah, it's one that came with the klutz face painting book kit. I posted the link in the "Unique butterfly Challenge" thread. It just says "Klutz" on the side, no size or anything, but if I had to guess, I'd say it's a #6 round...

Here's my bird mask
1st I put on a light coat of Wolfe silver on my face and neck/shoulder. Next I took some Snazaroo dark blue and put over the eye area, then a lighter blue around that. Next I made the "Ribbons" on my neck with Wolfe metalic blue, then the feathers. A little black around the edges of the feathers, some highlighting with lighter blue, then a couple of little starburst done in Wolfe white. Lastly I used silver glitter all over the silver and blue all over the blue. I used A 1/2 in snaz brush and a #4 Majestic and an awesome # 4 that I have used so much I rubbed the name off! And of course I applied bottom coats with a spomge. The pics don't pick up the glitter but it really glimmered. This is my first entry in any kind of contest and I had a lot of fun with it,

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Suzy! Love it! It reminds me of a stained glass window!
Jody, very pretty! so elegant the way the feathers cascade down the neck and shoulder! That would have gone perfect with my dress for senior prom

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Wow Carolyne that is amazing! I just clicked on last night after I finished mine and WOW!
Re: Post Submissions Here!
Ok so my camera and my computer have been having some domestic disputes lately...basically photos disappear into the ether as I'm loading them????? Luckily my model was still here last night when I loaded them on so I'm going good on the after pics but will have to redo all the step by steps today but I'm so excited about entering I'm going to post and then put SBS up after if that is ok??
I used Snaz Sparkle Turquoise, Snaz Brown, Snaz Blue, TAG black, Tag Pearl Green and various shades of cosmetic glitter. Plus a long lowelcornell liner brush, a no4 round, a pouncer and a sponge.
Sponge on brown/gold mix. Pouncer for turquoise and blue, liner for black and green on feather then add sparkles!!
sorry about the poor quality pics. Time for a new camera! This is the SBS for the feather I used it is just bent into an eyemask shap on the face but exact same feather. As mentioned above I lost my original SBS

Re: Post Submissions Here!
So many beautiful entries!
I am going to try to get another one up by tonight, now that I've figured out my dad's video camera.

Re: Post Submissions Here!
This is taken from my very favorite Art Nouveau image. I really wish I had gotten a model to paint this on. It was so difficult to paint under my chin and on my chest!
Step 1: sponge wolfe metallic white all over. Sketch out design with a #4 brush in Wolfe white
Step 2: Block out colors with a filbert brush and #4 round. Colors are, Wolfe bronze with a bit of kryolan bronze powder mixed in, Paradise teal mixed with wolfe metallic white, wolfe metallic green, wolfe dark blue, tag light metallic blue, tag purple, tag metallic green.
Step 3: Fill in lips with bronze. Outline everything in Wolfe black with a #4 round.
Final: Add wolfe white highlights with #4 round.

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Haha, I know what you mean freedspirit... I tried sketching a peacock design but didn't like... so I went with something else. I'm actually doing another one tonight that I was inspired to come up with today.

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Okay, here's the second one! The inspiration for this one came from the massage therapy room at my school when I went to get a free massage before class. There is a picture of a japanese crane on one of the walls there, and I liked it so much I came up with a design for it. Enjoy!
Materials used:
Paint: DFX- Pearl White, White, Black, Pink, Grey
Wolfe- Red
Brushes/Sponges: Round #6, #4, #2, and #0
1 small blush/large eyeshadow brush (for shimmer powder)
1 homemade half-circle sponge
Glitters: White fantasy powder by Graftobian
Paradise silver glitter
And Viola! A Japanese Crane with a Cherry Blossom Tree!
This one was such a pain because I am TERRIBLE at painting on the left side of my face and keeping the beak straight over the nose was almost impossible... but it was worth it! I'm very happy with this one!
*btw.. sorry for the crappy skin, man... can't wait until I grow out of getting breakouts! )

Re: Post Submissions Here!
WOW WOW WOW!!!!!
Suzy, what a great piece of art you have done! Love the colors, it reminds me of pop art.
Jody, first of all can I just say "SHUT UP" you are drop dead gorgeous and so is your design! What a beautiful mask, the colors, shape, details , everything is amazing!
Riana, That is just flawless, gorgeous, stunning, etc, etc, etc! You did an incredible job, what a bummer about your pictures BTW I had this happened to me and my husband found them. What windows do you have?
Punky, I really really really love your bird and that cherry blossom, but what I like the most is your smile, you look so approachable.
You are just too adorable!
Amazing entries everyone!

Re: Post Submissions Here!
WOW punky that is really gorgeous!!!...
so envious of all the peacocks /feathers that have been entered. they are beautiful.
ok one last go at this months challenge.
paints and brushes. all paints are tag. red, split( d.blue,l.blue and silver.),leaf split(white,d.green,l.green), light green, yellow, light green, pearl white, pearl silver, black, white,
sponge on background paint( i used light green mixed with the pearl white), then using 3/4 brush paint around eye with pearl white..
.
then usinga number 4 round brush paint on the beak, using black and white paint. then with the 3/4 brush start placing red around the white.
.
using the same 3/4 brush bring the red down for the neck , chest and back of bird, then use yellow and blue split to form the wing.
.
Then blue, and red paint in the tail .then using leaf split cake dab on the d.green and l.green onto end of yellow to tip the wings.
then with a washed out black and smallest round brush, out line the bird add the wing joint and make L shapes for the feathers. add a foot in silver with black small lines. Add squiggly lines around the eye with the red then highlight wings, beak and feathers with the white.
