Re: Post Submissions Here!
so good Michelle!
I was thinking I should try and get in first on this one before someone did something that intimidated me out of submitting - but too late!
- I'm still going to do mine before someone has the same idea and executes it better! So many talented artists around here now you have to be quick! lmao

Re: Post Submissions Here!
aah..thank you so much..but i don't assume anything though..not everything i do comes out the way I'd like..but then again..I just don't show these designs usually.
thse dolphins I did aren't very realistic looking..but i must say I like the more cartoonlook anyway!!...I love it when designs are a little fun!
you did a great job on your dolphin!

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Oh wow, seems we are off to a flying start!
Beautiful dolphins girls!
Here is my attempt, painted with Arty cakes, mermaid and aussie mermaid. As well as wolfe white and black and wolfe sparkle white for the base.
I also used a 1/2inch flat for the wave base, 1/4inch flat for the white tips of the waves, A number 1 round for the dots and black outline and a #12 filbert for the dolphin.
Step 1: Sponge a metalic white base over the eyes.
Step 2: (Beneath step 1... top right is step 5) Using the mermaid split and the 1/2 inch flat swirl on the waves.
Step 3: Repeating step 2 on the other eye (this time I made most of the waves under the eye)
Step 4: Using a 1/4 inch loaded with white I painted on the tips of the waves, I painted a few layers to get a white white over the very tips of the waves.
Step 5: Using the filbet brush loaded with the Aussie Mermaid I painted the body of the dolphin curving and twisting the brush out to a fine point. Using the same brush I pressed down to create a line for the nose.
Step 6: Still using the same brush as step 5 I added the tail and top fin.
Step 7: Outline the dolphins using the #1 round loaded with black. Also adding a small fin on its side and an eye just across from the nose.
Step 8: Using the #1 round, and slightly wetter white (not too wet as you don't want it to dribble) place lots of different sized dots, very close together, overlapping, and spreading out the further out you go. Highlight the tips of the waves and the water beneath the dolphin with these dots. Add in a couple of highlights on the dolphin and the dolphins eye as well as few stars around the out side of the design and you are done!

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Great dolphins! I should have done some sbs a few weeks ago... I had a "Dolphin Dash Event"(field day) at a school... Whitney came along & we must have painted 20 dolphins each
Re: Post Submissions Here!
As Kim would say....warning pic heavy!
Did a Brady Neher tutorial today on FABA Tv - can't half tell hey. So, made this up as I went along (as he says he does) and this is what happend. I would do lots different if to do it again, but since I did take sbs pics, I figured I'd enter it anyway.
I used all DFX paints. Sponge and number 4 round brush.
Colours: Black, white, light blue, dark blue, metallic green and metallic red for lips.
Sponged on white dolphin shapes.
Sponged on light blue and then over the top a little dark blue. Made a start on waves with white.
Sponged on a mix of blue and green to try create a wave from dolphins tails, and outlined dolphins.
Outlined waves and sponged on some white to try create water wash effect.
Finished with dots, stars and lippy.
