Re: Please Post Submissions Here!
I've done a couple of designs today that I took pictures of as I did them. I hope to post at least one tomorrow when I figure how to make the slideshow and post it here!

Re: Please Post Submissions Here!
Ok here is my first step by step, so you'll forgive any errors, please!
Dolphin friends! (this is my kids' idea for a name)
Here is a list of the materials I used:
Snazaroo Electric Blue, Royal blue and sparkle dark green
Wolfe white
Paradise black
Kolinsky sable number 4 and 2 brushes
Grimas S2 brush
Sorry about the instructions hiding the pics a bit. I promise to do better next time!
I had problems using RockYou so I used the gallery maker I normally use.
Hope you like it! My daughter got a bit fed up with all the stopping to take pictures and moved a bit but it's ok.

Re: Please Post Submissions Here!
(just another version with metal blue as a base and yellow/orange shells)
The photographers and mine definition of steb-by-step was a little different I will make the shell side again so you can see how it was made.
All the colours are DFX and I have used a #8 round sable for the basic shape of the seahorse, the shells and the starfish. A #6 for the rest, minus the black, where I used an eyeliner brush.
Seahorse: metal pink, metal purple and gold.
Shells: white and blue.
Starfish: yellow and orange.
Seaweed: light and dark green.
Peals: white and pink.
Re: Please Post Submissions Here!
Oooooooo!!! Nice work both of you!!!! I have a fantasy seahorse sketchy I just did. Now if I could just find a face to paint it on!!!!!
Re: Please Post Submissions Here!
Is there a file somewhere that gives a step by step on how to post slide shows. I see Rock you and Picture Trail are used and I can figure out their sites but can't figure out how to get the slide show onto this forum.
Sorry for not being very computer savvy.

Re: Please Post Submissions Here!
OK.... I think I figured it out!! Wow what a bunch of firsts for me....
-first challenge
-first self painting
-first self photography
-first painting not from someone else's work
Nothing like just jumping right in.....
- I used all Snazaroo paints: white, turquoise, dk blue, black.
-First used sponge and white and turquoise to get the base
-Next painted on dolphin and diver
-Highlighted dolphin and diver with black
-Highlighted belly of dolphin with white on sponge
- Painted a couple of fish in
Not sure what size of brush (as I just started in June) it was a round one anyways.
One is suppose to get the illusion that you are underneath the dolphin and diver and are looking up to the surface of the water...I tried..lol

Wow, such lovely designs!
I love that seahorse! The dolphin and seaweed face it just so cute!
Judy, grats on your firsts! You can totally tell the view point is from swiming down deeper than the diver and the dolphin. It looks like they are holding hand/fin too! That's just too sweet!
I think that penguin face will be popular with the Happy Feet crowd and at a zoo event!
I've been busy with events, but this contest was one I was hoping to get time to enter! I better hurry!

Turtle crown.
Here is a turtle crown that I came up with. I always feel so inferior posting stuff on here, especially with so many awesome painters on here. But I thought I'd do it for fun anyway.
Re: Please Post Submissions Here!
*lol* that is really cute. Maybe have the turtle swimming upward, so the head can be painted on the flat forehead instead of a curvy nose?
Re: Please Post Submissions Here!
Those are all awesome! I've not painted in forever and I'm so rusty, but I figured what the heck... here's a mermaid!
Re: Please Post Submissions Here!
Here's a lobster... not an original design as I looked off of a picture... hope that's ok?

Lonewolf..
Did you use rainbow cakes for the flowers and shells? And what did you use for the bubbles. I tried to make the ivy like yours, by mine was pretty pathetic for some reason.

Captain Savvy,
That mermaid is toooo nice to wash off. It's blended so nice it looks like pastel instead of paint!

Re: Please Post Submissions Here!
Kristal here are all the details:
Shells: split cake white/dark blue 3:1
Starfish: split cake yellow/orange 1:1
Seaweed: light green on a #6 brush, dipped in dark green at the tip. Then teardrops following a curved line. Remember to lift the brush for each one.
Peals: Dotter brush with white (and some green/blue on the demo, since it was on it already and I liked the effect), the side dipped in metal red (pink), then the tip in white again, so I would have less pink in the middle and only on one side.
The small white dots are Detailz white.
