Re: Post Submissions Here!
For your gross out pleasure I present this same effect on my brother's face... The dry version is pretty cool too, before ripping it open ...
The photo on the right is "scabs" created by soaking bran flakes in red food colouring, patting dry on a paper towel and then applying to the skin with liquid latex... bonus - they can be picked off like real scabs!!!!
One of my Halloween customers last year had me do this over his whole body - car crash fire victim.

Used products:Red lip pencil,A toothpick,Collodion (Kryolan),#1 round brush,DFX Black and White.
Draw a line with a red lip pencil and use the toothpick to apply at least 10 layers collodion over it.
Draw the stitches with DFX black.
Add some red dots (with the lip pencil) on the end of the stitches and add (with the toothpick) some dots collodion over them.
Add some white/grey highlights on the stitches and paint with a wash out brush some shadow under them for a real 3D effect.

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Wow! It looks so real - those stitches really look raised - excellent shading and hilighting!
And those burns are definitely 'shudder worthy' :S

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Just realised what was bugging me about it. Should have put a shadow under the skin stretch about 1cm out and no shadow on top. would have given it the depth it needed.
I guess these things happen when you try to paint at dinner time....

Wicked Mr Daizy. Just like something the wolfe bros would do. Your attention to detail is sensational.
