Glad to hear I could be of inspiration to you. And to your chicken bone so gross. I really love the second pic best.
Melinda it is just like that isn't a gross car wreck & you just can't keep looking.
Re: Post Submissions Here!
Okay, my attempts...
The first is a bone fracture
All the paint I used is from Grimas.
I used; dermawax (grimas), a toothpick to make the cut, a sponge, brushes number 0 and 3, a tupperware orange peeler
Colours; skin color base/ cake
Red, black, white, brownish red, reddish brown, blue
First make a little lump with dermawax and place it on the skin. Use vaseline to smooth the edges
Then put some brown, red, blkue and skin colours on it to make the bruise.
Then I made a cut using a toothpick and a tupperware orange peeler (don't know if anyone ever heard of this...)
Inside the cut I used some black, red, yellow all mixed together. Then with a fully loaded soaking wet brush I let the blood run
Actually I put a piece of tissue in it for the bone but I decided that this is it!

The second attempt...
I got a job; For the fire dept. in my city. They want me to do a step by step of a burning wound, bruise, cut and so on. so I needed to practice!
I used;
Dermawax, vaseline, p[aints;skin colour, black, red, blue and a toothpick and a sponge
Make a dermawax ball and put it on the skin, use vaseline to smoothen the edges
I mixed reddisch brown with the vaseline and put in on the skin
then I added tissue on top of it
Then sponge it with red, bluw bt mostly black. With the toothpick I opened the tissue and let the blister come out again

Re: Post Submissions Here!
I wanted to do one I've learnt on a workshop with burning some glue on water...Only 2 days left.
I have to be alone, because I don't want my kids to see me do this. Before I notice they are burning things too. I'll try to be in time for this challenge.

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Squeezing in one last entry for this month's challenge. I thought about this for a couple of day's & didn't know if I could do it to myself or not. Woke up this morning & thought what the hell go for it.
Step 1: with snaz SFX wax create the beginnings of a bullet hole.
Step 2: blacken the centre of the wax with Wolfe black paint. Using Ben Nye bruise wheel start to create a black eye.
Step 3: using Mehron's coagulated blood dribble down from the bullet hole.
Step 4. using a mix of snaz cake blood & vaseline put some of this mixture on your cheek.
Step 5. Apply a thin layer of tissue over the cheek ooze then apply skin coloured liquid latex around the edges to seal it. Using the bruise wheel again using layers of red, purple, blue, brown create the deepening effect & bruising around the wound. I also added some more vaseline & snaz FX wax above my eye applied tissue over it, then dabbed skin coloured liquid latex around the edges. Then continued with the bruise wheel to add depth.
Step 6: with a toothpick open up the tissue & allow the vaseline & snaz blood cake mix to look ooozie. I also added some coagulated blood for extra freshness to the blood look.
Materials used: Snaz FX wax, snaz cake blood, thin layer of tissue, Wolfe black paint, Liquid Latex skin colour, Ben Nye bruise wheel, Mehron coagulated blood, toothpick. I think that's all folks
Hot tip: Put the coagulated blood ooozing from the bullet hole on last. I put it on way too early & felt the sensation of it feeling like it was going to drip off my nose making it a bit ticklish.

burning wounds
Okay Part 1 of making wounds. Don't show this to your children....I learned this on a workshop for facepainters so I think it's safe to use on skin. Metina, if you don't want to put this method on your forum, because it may not be safe, you can delete it. I'm okay with that.
You need:
The making of:
to be continued.....
Here for Part 2:
I had to use flash for this pictures because it's dark here, sorry, not really good pictures.
You need:
- A metal pan with water
- Glue (inflammable)
- lighter
- something you can put it on to let it dry
The making of:
- Put a lot of glue in the pan
- Light it
- Watch how the flames make bubbles and burn the glue. When you think it's allright then blow the flames off. You can also let it burn till it stops by itself
- You can put more glue on it (beware that the flames must be out completely!!)
- Burn it again to make more burned spots.
- Put the burned glue aside to dry completely
- when it had dried to a kind of chewing gum you can pull or push here and there to model it.
- You can make more in the same session
- When it's dry completely (it takes a day) you can use it on your body. (see Part 2)
to be continued.....
Here for Part 2:
- Used Grimas black and darkred, sponge, special stippelsponge, mastix solution and the earlier made 'wounds'
- Sponge red on
- Put Mastix on the wounds
- Put the wounds on the body.
- Sponge red and black with the special sponge
I had to use flash for this pictures because it's dark here, sorry, not really good pictures.

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Cool technic, thanks for sharing Nancy.
Just a question when you are burning the glue is there a horrible smell????

Re: Post Submissions Here!
No, when it burns there is no smell. It only smells when you blow out the flames for a short time, just like when you blow out a match (it is a different smell though). My smokedetector didn't react.
