Re: Post Submissions Here!
I did a little eye design inspired by Katniss' Peacock Eyelashes (I want those eyelashes, but this is the next best thing:-)
Tools:
1/2 inch flatbrush
#1 Roundbrush
Smoothie Blender
Paints:
Orange & Pink Ben Nye Lumiere Pressed Powders
TAG Fancy Feather Splitcake (Only available through www.facepaintforumshop.com)
Wolfe Back
Put on Ben Nye Lumiere Pressed Powders as eyeshadow w/ the smoothie blender. Orange on they eyelid, then blend the pink into the crease of the eyelid & under the eye(like eyeliner).
Using a 1/2 inch flatbrush load the darker blue side of the TAG Fancy Feather Splitcake. Paint the feathers putting the darker blue on the inside.
Using a #1 roundbrush & Black Wolfe Face Painting add eyeliner to the top & bottom lashes. Outline the feathers, add details & swirls.
BTW, these small designs are great for hot humid events where you don't want a lot of face paint on your face.

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Ok then. Here we go. Never read the book, never saw the movie but I know how to use google and I was intrigued by this guys beard. I think hes the bad guy, Seneca Crane. I also wanted to do his rose, his gentically altered white rose with scattered blood drops on it? Sounded creepy and I liked it.
BTW I feel a bit like a maniac with this beard on. LOL
Supplies: an angle brush, a squares sponge, black, white and red WOLFE
....Im so going to stain. Good thing my clown meeting is tonight! LOL
I used the sponge to map out all the cool swirly parts of the beard and to fill it in a bit. I did triangles from the jaw line up.
Then I filled it in a bit more and added mean looking eyebrows for this villian.
I used my brush to make the angles sharper and draw a white rose on the chest. added a drop shadow then I used the tip to put blood drops on it.
Then I tried to make a scary face but I was sorta laughing to hard. So this is what came across... as my finished face of course. I would use this at an event no problem, its a super quick face to be honest. lol
Good luck to all! I broke the ice, now post away!

LOL! Love it!
He's really more sophisticated/but naive about the whole culture. Most the people are sortof dumb about what's going on in their society...

Ah well, I tried. I had fun none the less. lol Itll work, I dont expect to win, I just wanna make people laugh. I think I did that.
Sophistication is not in my realm of personalities I dont believe. this is me trying to pull the same look as the pic I used online. Wasnt happening, so I went maniac instead.
I wanted to mention your peacock eyes were very pretty and fell into my inspire folder. This movie and book sounds like it has a lot of fantastical things in it for the fantasy costuming people! pretty cool.

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Ok, so the Mockingjay inspired me like it did many others, and so did the "Girl on Fire," but I also wanted to include a little taste of where the games took place, so as part of my butterfly design, I added a silhouetted mini-landscape to capture the "forest" where most of the story takes place. I hope you like my very first submission!
Tools:
1. Round Tack sponge, cut in half
2. Size 8 round brush
3. Size 4 round brush
4. Baby Wipes
Paints:
1. Paradise white, yellow and orange
2. FAB Red
3. Wolfe Black
4. "Fire" ABC
Step 1: Sponge the butterfly onto the face using the colors in the following order from inside of face out: White, Yellow, Orange, Red. I blended the colors directly on the face with my sponge, but you could also load your sponge with all of the colors at the same time. Use the baby wipes to clean up the butterfly shape to however you want it.
Step 2: Using the Wolfe Black, outline the forehead colors to create a "flame" effect. I lightly sketched the Mockingjay onto the center of the forehead in white and then painted over it with black.
Step 3. Using the Wolfe Black, outline the butterfly and add detail to make it "edgy." For added interest, I created a tree line silhouette to reference the woods in the book and movie.
Step 4. I did something weird that worked well for me to make additional flames in one stroke. I wet my #8 round brush really well and then loaded it SIDEWAYS with the Fire ABC (so that the bristles were going crossways instead of longways on the ABC) by ROLLING the very wet brush in the Fire ABC. I wasn't sure if it would work, but it did! Hold your brush completely perpendicular to the face and press down toward the base of the bristles like you are doing a 1 stroke flower petal. This created fire-feathers for the top of my design between the butterfly wings.
This shows me loading my brush.
These are some test fire feathers.
The complete design. I'm sorry I wasn't smiling, but the other images weren't clear when I was! LOL

I agree! LOVE IT!!!!
Re: Post Submissions Here!
I REALLY wanted to enter this one and, like Becky did, I thought about a mask in flames and I wanted to add the "hunger games" symbols. I was inspired by this pic:
BUT my son wasn't very cooperative and he didn't let me finish the design ...So frustrating. Anyway, although I'm out of challenge (for the nonce), I thought I'd share the few pics I could take. May be tomorrow...
... and that's all, folks

Re: Post Submissions Here!
I read all the books, loved the movie. I am thinking some interesting make up like the Capital City residents. Wish they had gone a little slower so we could see what they looked like. And wish they had done more of the gold tattoos like in the book, but perhaps we will see more in the next two movies.
Re: Post Submissions Here!
Is it just me or does Rantzau really resemble Katnis??? Is that you or are you painting someone else? Very cool designs. I am loving all of these.
Re: Post Submissions Here!
I was thinking the exact same thing Jody!
I have read all three books and am seeing the movie tomorrow. Though when I read the books before the trailor came out, Katniss looked very different in my mind.
