Re: big problem with dragons.help please
They are all awesome! The great thing about dragons is no-one has seen one.... if you do a bad dragon and a child says so, just ask have they ever seen one?
Re: big problem with dragons.help please
LOL! That's true no one has ever seen a dragon (well, except a Kimono Dragon and that looks like a lizard)...
OK, here are my versions of Dragons (they're both quick and easy to do at parties & fairs):

Re: big problem with dragons.help please
I had a hard time figuring out dragons as well. This is what I put together so far. I like the designs with the dragons body in the middle and the wings on the eyes but I keep messing those up. Im never satisfied.
Re: big problem with dragons.help please
Tanya: I like your dragon.....I'll incorporate the horns on top onto my dragon.
Re: big problem with dragons.help please
I came up with another dragon if you are interested...

Love the shading - and it's such a happy dragon!

Re: big problem with dragons.help please
I love it when people break it down like that... helps so much. Anna did a dragon when she first reviewed DFX that I use, but I've been wanting to work out a better "hard core" looking one.
Although, I did do this one from the Tattoo Sourcebook during a down hour on the 30th between clients, and I'm pretty proud of it.

I love the purple dragon - all those tiny little lines have me in awe. And I love your dragon mask Psalm. The colors and detail have me studying it in depth. You all definitely take it to a fine art!

Re: big problem with dragons.help please
I like it Psalm. It makes the eyes pop like they are really part of the dragon.
Re: big problem with dragons.help please
I've discovered if you wrinkle up your face(or have your model wrinkle their face) it makes wonderful lines to accent w/ black(I saw the Wolfe Bros do this). I guess vintage skin is helpful in this
Re: big problem with dragons.help please
Pixieface- I couldn't do the tiny lines last year... I discovered (here of all places ) it takes confidence in your line work to make better lines.

Jbax - you are right there. I find I do so much better when I am in a zone. When I sit down to do a new design in my practice sessions, and feel "the fear" of "can I do this?" I am always clumsy, no matter what brush I have in my hand. I have been practicing dragons so have really been watching this thread closely.

I love dragons...
there are so many ways, what ever it is add teeth and scales, and it is a dragon, this one did not even start out as a dragon.
