Lizzie - I don't think of you as a newbie anyway, so that's why YOUR name wasn't on my leg.
Thanks Amy. It was fun to do, and names are actually pretty good practice as there are lots of different shapes in them. x

Kammy,
Nice work on your legs, the lines, teardrops and writing the names, well that's just too funny I love it!!

@ Shadowdrawing your pink tiger is adorable! I really like the lines by the eye and just below them - so graceful!

shadowdrawing wrote:Anyone got a favorite brush for lines and teardrops?
For line work, I like a 2 or 4 round.
For teardrops I like a 6 or 8 round... depending on how big I want them.
...and the "place and flick" method (starting with the drop and ending in the tail)...can't do that at ALL! I start with the tail and end in the drop. SOOOO much easier for me.
Shadow try this for the press first and then tail.. I'm going on the assumption that you write like i do lol
You know how if you have a pen in your hand and you draw an up and down line, you don't start the top of you line completely centered as if you were writing a word.
You (me) kind of stretch out your fingers, pushing with your thumb, to start higher up
Then as you pull the pen down past your natural center, getting to the bottom of the little line, your fingers kind of curl under your palm.
Think of it as sketching small vertical lines.
You hand and your arm to not move, just your fingers.
Try that same motion with the brush and add a small twist as you get past your center point.
If ANY of that makes any sense, let me know hahaha

Here we go
My attempts at a tiger.
I can't load a sponge to save my life apparently and it seems as great as the wolfe black goes on. it won't come off my practice head :/ Gonna have to build me some pipes to scrub my heart out
I lent out my orange so i was trying to mix a useful one along the way
Re: Newbie Challenge #2
some line work i did a little while ago.. I'll do some more recent ones tho
i am a fan of the colour combination

ladysinaz - Thanks for the tip (yup, I got it completely). I'm going to try that! I have the trouble with the twist. I do pencil sketches so twisting doesn't really come into play
Do your practice heads all have the same hair?? I finally found something that takes off the paint...Goof Off spray on cleaner. Put it on and let it sit for a few minutes then attack it with a green scrubby. Got the tip from someone else on the forum!
I like the orange that you used on your tigers...mine seems so bright.
