Newbie Challenge #7 and #8
So I had some suggestions for what challenges to do next and they were exactly what I was thinking--so thanks ladies
Since I start with the girl design first normally
This weeks challenge is FLOWERS! Yeah!
Try them with square brushes, try them with round brushes, try them two toned, try them however you want! Do a face, practice up and down an arm---
NOW HERE IS THE KICKER!
I want to see at least three different types of flowers---The different shape brushes will help with that---but I want to see THESE three
1. ROSE--oh man!
2. Your normal 5 petal flower (the one we see the most)
3. A hibiscus-google it if you are unsure.
There are some great Youtube videos out there to help you learn these if you are at a loss as to where to start.
I am NOT good with flowers so this will be a great week for me! My roses never are crisp--My 5 petal flowers are OK---and my hibiscus sticking out part (that is the technical term) normally looks just a little to "excited" --
So I am again posting a day early because we have--Ta Da--out of town company for most of this week--some times i feel like I should open a bed and breakfast!
Can't wait to see what everyone posts!
PS: I am making those of you who have posted in the past offical "Newbie Welcomers--if you notice a newbie joining this Forum please invite them to our threads--I don't get around to everyone! Thanks!

Re: Newbie Challenge #7 and #8
We're already on it, Captain Amy! Been welcoming and inviting the newbies as and when we see 'em. And I know what you mean about feeling like a bed and breakfast. The entire festival month (August) is like that for us in Edinburgh!
Flowers. Ugh. I'm not good at flowers. I'll get on it.

They're all really pretty, Daphne - I especially love the final one. You still have to do new ones for the challenge though, or you're cheating and we'll all shout at you.

Re: Newbie Challenge #7 and #8
Daphne--those are nice. The top one reminds me of the movie Tangled--and the last one I haven't seen flowers like that -pretty.
Kammy--you are scary! I don't want you to shout at me! I will have to do this challenge correctly! ha ha ha---July is normally our time for losts of house guests, but for some reason they just keep coming! I am not anywhere near a captain--I am just bossy
I will have my nieces over again tonight--maybe I can paint flowers on them--and maybe my kids will be willing to sit still enough for me to do it.

Daphne--you are always on top of it! Nice!
good job--your pictures always have this unreal quality about them--like HD or something--it trips me out!! Can you post it bigger? are the little marks by your eye flowers? I have bad eyesight even with glasses and when I clicked on the picture it didn't make it any bigger.
What color did you use for the forehead flowers? I like it!

Oh Flowers, What a great idea! I do a lot of roses but I've really wanted to learn how to do a hibiscus and here is the perfect opportunity thanks! I'll try and get some done today after shopping. It's a rainy day so the kids will HAVE to sit still for me right? lol

Re: Newbie Challenge #7 and #8
The colours are from PartyXplosion White, yellow, light (baby) pink and neon pink. (Did I told you I like pink? Lol)
Re: Newbie Challenge #7 and #8
no it was not the baby pink, it was just "pink"? Not the really light one, that I also have.
Re: Newbie Challenge #7 and #8
Now yer talkin'!! I love flowers!!
Daphne, those are so pretty! I too especially love the third one of the little girls, so delicate. Did nice flowers on yourself too, especially like the flowers on your forehead. How did you do those? "Double dip" the brush in two different colors, or a split cake?

Re: Newbie Challenge #7 and #8
I also have designed a dragon mask, but haven't paint it yet. Flowers are quick.
I've painted the little ones with a .3 round.
The medium pink ones are double dips
