So I finally bought some. I've been looking around for some that are denser but couldn't find any. I got some at Michael's and might get some more at Walmart. I guess I'll have to twist them a little to get good coverage.

Hmmm.... when is some company gonna design them without the sticks, but shaped more like a Hershey's Kiss? I'm thinking that would work well to keep the fingers clean, and not have to deal with the sticks/handles tearing out of them.

lizdexia---How I highlight for the scaly faces is load up one color on the sponge roll the whole edge in another color then roll just the bottom in black!

And I agree with you BATWilliamsMagic, I wish someone would start manufacturing these without the handles, too!

Gina,
You just have to get used to the right water to paint ratio & your'e good to go but twist only if you have one color, then lightly tap, tap, tap to have a nice finish. Press & tap for mulitple colors. The designs are endless - think of cheek & arm designs!
Cheers,
Susan

I see a lot of amazing designs here, many of which are inspiring me to re-think the multi-color cake paints. Now, when will the $$ be available to spend on all the paints I need to invest in ? lol

I think I have the weird disease where I won't want to cut up my pretty cakes...on the pouncer and the rainbow I found I could twist just slightly. Very slightly. It helped me get the color on and blended slightly without destroying the rainbow effect.

I can't mae myself cut up my new paradise yet, but I've torn to pieces my sampler pallets. Lol. Love knowing what is in my split cakes. I'll have to get over it because I want metallic splits too.

I gave in & cut away as some of my splits were getting holes in them & the center colors were washed out.

I do have a few that I have made from colors that were getting really low, but I'm anxious to get more, of course! And I really want to try some of Metina's TAG blending cakes. They appeal to me more because most of the ones I've seen have too many colors combined for my tastes.

If you don't like tons of colors, try split cakes. I cut most of my cakes in 1/2 & made combos. I can go to one color with a sponge or swipe both.
