Re: Newbie Challenge # 5 & 6
sounds like the third one is the winner--I will work on that one.
I am not sure i like the double ears--and I think I will use the eye from the 2nd one.
I will see if I can work on them later this afternoon.
Katerra--did you do anymore video's?

Re: Newbie Challenge # 5 & 6
I have 5 videos on my channel, I took them at the jams. I finally learned how to edit properly, so hope to make more in the future!
P.S. I'm not painting in my videos, Susan Billings does.

Re: Newbie Challenge # 5 & 6
Don't know if I can call anyone here a newbie... those unicorns are AWESOME!!!
Kammy, your unicorn blew me away....love it:P
Daphne your unicorn is so cute and your butterfly is adorable, the two go well together.
Amylady222, you rocked this challenge! I love all your unicorns. I like how all the unicorns have different shaped eyes and ears. I honestly don't have a favorite as I think you out did yourself in this challenge

Leilani,
love the mane on your unicorn, the swirls and teardrops make it look delicate.
Doe,
Nice job on the unicorn mask I'm unable to see your first pic, I can only see half and when I tried opening it nothing happened

Re: Newbie Challenge # 5 & 6
This was my very first one when I started face painting, thought I should post because it is the very first one.
My second...hated it because it was at an actual gig!
This is now:
My unicorn mask...this was a big hit at the school gig I did two weeks ago

I have done a few dragons, one or two monsters, but never a dinosaur---so lets see if I can do this challenge myself!

Re: Newbie Challenge # 5 & 6
I'm here!! I haven't gone anywhere!! I always seem a day late. I painted my unicorn, but my line work is crap - I let my BFF borrow my Wolf Black and woah, can I see the difference! This is using a Fee Jackson step by step.
Re: Newbie Challenge # 5 & 6
Here are a couple of dragons I've done in the past... there are a couple in my inspiration folder I want to try as well, I'll post those this week if I get a chance. You'll probably recognize the Lisa Joy Young tutorial of the red one.

Sorry i've missed the last few challenges
Here are some of my dragons/monsters tho!
A few definitely still need work that's for sure.
I'm surprised i have this many pictures of Dragons or monsters, i have to bribe my son to let me paint them. He HATES being scary stuff lol.

Here is a dragon/lizard I did at my 1st gig a couple of weeks ago. I still haven't practiced the Dragon to much, but will try to get one tomorrow done to post.
Re: Newbie Challenge # 5 & 6

Re: Newbie Challenge # 5 & 6
My Wolfe black better not be ruined!!! She's my "assistant" at the autism walks we do (both of our son's are on the spectrum) so I've "trained" her a bit. She had to do a demonstration for her public speaking class so chose to do face painting! I lent her some of my paints including the Wolf black, SO my unicorn was lined with Paradise black.... phew that was a long story.
Re: Newbie Challenge # 5 & 6
Oh--good I thought she ruined it!! Is your friend the one that asked for help on a demonstration speech in another thread?
Still looks great to me!

Re: Newbie Challenge # 5 & 6
MissHeidi-nice unicorn, like the mane.
Both dragons are awesome! For scales affect many on the forum have suggested using the mesh bag oranges come packaged in. I've used the technique, beats spending money on a stencil
Lacey's Faces-- nice variation of dragons, you have the three different masks and that arm design looks like one that Psalms has a tutorial on, I love it!
GlitterDazzles--- love the scary eyes!

Re: Newbie Challenge # 5 & 6
One of my first dragons...all black just because I though it would be easy
This one I used the mesh bag but needed to use a deeper gold or darker color so the scales would show up better.

Belle, Nice dragon. And I love the eyes on your "lizard man," some of the most realistic I've seen. Liked the "bag" scales too.
