I had my first festival this year last Saturday, and it was a great success! I added tutus, tutu totes, princess and pirate makeovers this year. Here is mine, I'd love to see yours too!

That looks amazing! Do you have to charge sales tax when you sell your tutus and stuff? I love the idea, but don't want to have to figure out legalities of such stuff.

I still have to get the latest pics off the camera, then I'll post my most recent set up. (it morphs a bit every time.)

I have my first festival of the season this week, so I'll send pics as soon as I have them! I'm working on the banner frames today- adding concrete to the bases, etc. I've worked like a dog the past week cutting all the pvc, velcro-ing pics to the banners, etc. I'm curious to see what it's going to look like myself!

I don't sell anything besides the face paint and glitter tattoos because I don't want to have to keep up with sales tax as well, Diane!

I thought I had to pay sales tax on all services, so I have been paying it on face painting for the last year. This is the first one with tutu's and add ons. How can you find out if you are eligible to not pay sales taxes on the face painting part?

I don't really charge sales tax if they pay cash(its included in the price), if they pay credit then yes I do, cause my phone calculates all of that, and I am being charged for using the credit card service. I still pay sales tax on all of it though, no matter what I charge.

Face Painting is a service and in most states, sales tax is not due on a service Smile I'd check with your state to make sure, though. As long as I don't sell a tangible "product" then I don't have to collect or pay sales tax Smile

So...what was your hottest seller? How much for the tutu's and totes?
I love that idea.
We don;t have to charge tax unless we make over $30K in a year....I wish!!! hahaha

Face paint always out sells everything else, but the tutus are $12.99 and the Totes are $25, you can actually take the tutus off the bags and wear them. This was my first festival with them, and I did well, but only sold 2 totes. I think my price might be a bit high, but they take so much time to make I couldn't sell them for less than $20 to make them worth it, but they are fun to make when I am at home doing nothing during the weekdays(what?! am I supposed to clean during those days?-lol).

It looks really nice Linda, I would just add some fun decorations that just say what the fun in you is! Mine is tutus and crowns and butterflies, whats yours? even if you just added some flowered garland around your tent legs it would add alot of fun to it(ooohhh, great idea me, now I'm going to have to do that too)!

I make tutus also and charge $12.00 to $35.00 price depends on size and how much embellishments are added. Tutus are not part of my face painting, it's just something I enjoy making.
Love your set up, very inviting. Smile

I'm not great at sewing, so the tutu's are out... LOL! I saw Gina Newsum's (SP? Sorry if I misspelled your last name:-( ) Ren Fair setup & loved her back drop. She took Heavy Fabric & painted a beautiful floral background. I',m thinking of going that direction. I'm not sure what it'll be, but something very fairy like & festive.

LOL Anniel! I used to face paint in one of them! I made a really large onewith long strips of tulle, and made a princess skirt out of it, but I did retire it since I bought my new princess dresses. Although I may use it again if someone wants a fairy to come to their party! Darn thing won't upload a photo of it, I will try again later!

Cute! I made one, but the top is all bunchy & needs to be finished in some way; like yours. It splits up a bit too, so I don't care for it. Like I said, I can't sew... not even a no-sew tutu lol!

Plenty of boys come in too, because I have pirate stuff in there too, I just didn't get good pics of that side, being the girly loving me! I made the tutu and found battery operated christmas lights, and made the flowers out of round peices of fabric and glued them to the lights, it is fun!
