Show your Tent / Outdoor Event setups

Here is mine, you cant see my boards, they are to the left side, just out of the shot. I have pictures in the blue hanging sign that is in the back, to the left, and that is where I paint. The tattoos are on the right side of the tent. On this day, the face painting banner that we clip next to the henna banner is MIA, not sure why.

How did you like the Y-Body tats? I had often thought about getting the big kit but am finding the Glitter tat business died down a little bit last year I think due to them putting out Shimmer Tattoos available in every store...Ugh I cringe when I hear Look Mommy its Shimmer ...."no! you had the kit at home."....double ugh.

I love that kit! It doubled my tattoo business. We do airbrushing too, and people just see the board and want one, then we ask if they want glitter or airbrush. It is so easy, and we have done more parties with it lately too, very very nice. I like ybody's selection and quality, and Tal is very helpful.

And I hate it when kids think it is shimmer too...but, they cant get the variety we have. The thing is a huge attention getter.

I have thought the same thing about the selection...I am trying to not spend anymore money this year...lol I think I just lied to myself...I have to invest in a Pole tent and it is gonna set me back around 900.00 i had posted in another thread about the issue of some of the bigger events not alowing a pop ups.....

I am taking your photo for my husband...he finishes his MBA in May, and then he is supposed to build me a frame for a large banner out front. Well see...

i did that its just 1 inch pvc a couple conectors and corner pieces It sits at 10 feet high since the bottom of the tent is 8 feet. It comes apart in 4 pcs...the conectors are glued and we just put it together in upside down U-shape and ZIP tie is to the two front legs....the only thing is I have to take it down each evening since it is in the way of zipping sidewalls. I think cost me about 6.00 to make...I do have local store that only sells PVC so its like 75% cheaper than HOME DEPOT or Lowes Have at it if ya want I can make a drawing of the measurements and post?
I use those ball bungy thingys to connect banner and a few Zip ties just in case of heavy wind.

I do need to get a few more gromments put in my banner at the top it bothers me that it looks a bit saggy...hehe....

Thanks Ladies! I would love to hear, best practices, or what worked better... Im getting my tent this week. I ordered a 10x10 EZ UP with sides and the front awning... it was the best deal I found, $200. (From Sam's club)

Jobena, I would love your measurements! I think my husband plans to use some kind of pipe, but pvc sounds easier. He never goes for easy...sigh.

Here is a pic of the set up at night....I tried clip on lights and they were awful lots of shadows and too many cords someone suggested a string of Construction lights....I zip tie them to the corners and center of my tent with 100 watt bulbs...They are the yellow caged lights..50 ft length. Nothing bites more than not being able to see and trying to paint in the shadows. If you can see on the Right corner I have a weight made from 3 inch PVC pipe which is cement filled. This is suspended off the ground and attached to top corner of tent frame. Or you can zip tie them to the legs of tent frame with super long 2 foot zip ties. I have 4 of them for Non-spiking venues. Hope this helps.

The booth... Oh the Booth... it's comparable to finding that perfect case..
Exciting and frustrating all rolled into one.

I start my "new" setup this weekend as well.. new canopy new Airbrush Tattoo displays, new chairs.. we shall see how this all works out// i'll post pics.

I'd love to see a picture of those lights set up in the tent.. that is one thing i haven't conquered yet.. lighting and shadows.

Oh it's getting that time of year I have a very old pick of my setup so i wont post that one, i have a gig in a few weeks and i'll take a new photo then. Love seeing everyone's setups tho!

I've tied all different sorts of layouts. I've spread out on either side: DD does glitter tatts on one side, I paint on the other.



I've tried Denise Cold's layout: having an interior line. (no thanks! I'm claustrophobic!) This is the layout below. Above is the actual booth.




Now I do a modified T formation. So far, it's the best layout for us. But now that my son twists balloons, I may have to rethink it.
