Re: Soft Scrub Basin
Hi, Jan. I have plenty more scrub brushes to send out if anyone wants them, just PM me your address and I'll I had been charging $2.10 to cover shipping (1.95) plus the envelope (0.15), but I forgot that Paypal takes 2.9%+0.30 per transaction, so instead of breaking even, I'm actually losing money each time I send out brushes. It's not a huge amount, but it adds up.
I'm happy to send them out and break even, so the new shipping charge is: $2.46 for US addresses. That way, I'm not losing money (not making any, either). If you already sent a payment for the original amount, it's fine, don't worry about it.
If someone wanted to write me a check and mail it for $2.10, that's just fine. PM me and I'll give you my address. Otherwise, if you pay by Paypal, it's $2.46. My paypal address is julie@thegildedcat.com
As someone asked, the brushes I have are not new. Doctor's first wash their hands with regular soap and water, then they scrub their hands with these scrub brushes. The brushes have a sponge attached to the back which has betadine (iodine) scrub in it. After they're done, I peel the sponge off, wash the plastic brush in soap and water, and let it dry. It's not "sterile," it never was, but it's clean.

Re: Soft Scrub Basin
I went to a local store (Lee Valley) and bought a few scrub brushes to make my own, when I went to attach them I also wanted the option to remove if needed. I ended up using hot glue - it worked a treat I already had to pop one off to reset it and it came right off. all I had to do was pull off the glue and then reset it. I haven't noticed any problems with my brushes, they all seem to be pretty happy and wow are they clean.

Re: Soft Scrub Basin
I don't know how I did it any other way now! The brushes are clean with just a couple of passes on the sponge and the water stays so much cleaner.
Re: Soft Scrub Basin
$3.70 will get it to you and cover Paypal charges. How many and I can ship on Monday if that works for ya!
Re: Soft Scrub Basin
Oh sheesh Julie - I dropped the ball on this! Haha (ignored the forum the week you posed this as I was at an event all weekend, and I guess missed it when I came back). So I was surprised when I got the package today!

Re: Soft Scrub Basin
I still love mine! I attached the brushes with silicone, got it at Lowes. I love how clean my brushes get, and I use so much less water now. I do find that I have to condition my brushes more often, but l love to play with my brushes. It is like thearpy.
Re: Soft Scrub Basin
When she's not hired to do glitter tattoos, my daughter comes with me to parties and helps me set up, break down, etc. but in between, she washes my brushes for me and keeps them set out so I can grab them quickly. She's LOVING this brush basin because she said it's so much faster and easier to remove the paint. I know when I do a festival and there's 50 people in line, I can just swish my brush through the bristles once or twice and they're clean- great time-saver.
Re: Soft Scrub Basin
So this is probably a silly question, but when people condition their brushes, what are they using? Like a proper 'brush conditioner' from art supply stores (if there is such a thing?)?? or ordinary human-hair conditioner?? - yes, I am clueless!!

Re: Soft Scrub Basin
I use both master soap and ivory soap. Sometimes I use hair gel to reshape them too. You can use the Ivory bar, just damp, then rub it into a paste kind of, not a lather, and reshape the bristles to a point, let them dry.
