Royal Soft Grip 12pc set worth it?
Hello!
I'm pretty new to this forum as well as to face painting.
I actually just got my paints in and discovered the set of cheap brushes I already had just don't cut it.
So I've been searching online and this forum for ideas.
Anyway, I just stumbled on this deal from artistpaintbrush.com
Link
It seems to have most the basic brushes needed, and I've heard a few good things about Royal.
I just wonder if this set is worth it, or would it be better to just get a variety brushes separately?

Actually... I have several of those! They are pretty decent and for that price it isn't that much of an investment if you don't like them.

Thanks for the advice! I'll just go for it then.
And if they don't work out, I'll have a case and my kids can play with the brushes haha!

Re: Royal Soft Grip 12pc set worth it?
omg, I got three of these on sale, a script liner, a #6 round and a fan brush...
I cut the fan brush into a butterfly shape, and it is FANTASTIC! I use it for a quickie butterfly mask when I've just spent too much time making a detailed butterfly full face and the next child asks for a butterfly also.lol.comes out so cute though I love it~!
The #6 round works just as good as my leow cornell 7000...I dunno how long it will last, but since it's still a month old, it is definitely my "go-to" favourite while the other is air drying after being sanitized in alcohol...
and don't get me started on that script liner!!!!!!!!!omg, such beautiful fine lines and long tear drops, I am in love

That's awesome! Now I don't have to worry about buyers remorse haha.
My brushes will get here tomorrow and I'm even more excited to try them out now.

Re: Royal Soft Grip 12pc set worth it?
I actually just bought one of these on clearance. It was the larger flat one guess it is 1/2 or 3/4? Any way, I used it on the big job yesterday and wish I had gotten 10 more. Really liked it for the one strokes. This set looks like a good deal, I think I have paid $10 just for a brush case like that without brushes.

I prefer Lowe Cornell. They have them T Joann fabrics and you can use coupons! I helps!
Re: Royal Soft Grip 12pc set worth it?
I have several, but I don't think I would compare them to LC's. they do keep their shape pretty well, so I use them for my colors and my LC's for black and white. I have several flats and live them.

They a cheap and are pretty good to use, i do love the grip on the paint brush.

Okay, just an update, the point separates a bit on the round.make tiny v shaped marks instead of dots. Perfect for teensy leopard marks, but still does swirls okay.

Re: Royal Soft Grip 12pc set worth it?
Another update
I really like these! I've practiced with them on both my kids and a mannequin head from wimex. The grips are really nice and comfortable. I wish my wacom pen had such a nice grip!
I'm really new to fp so I don't know how they should compare to better brushes, but they are definitely better than my cheap set from hobby lobby!
My only issue was from the amazon seller. The zipper on the case was in pieces, only two brushes had the protective tubes on them and were loose in the case, and the bristles on a couple brushes are kinked.
That and I wish the set came with a filbert, but that's not a big deal I just bought a royal aqualon separate. And i love that one too! Smooth strokes, loads well, acrylic handle, etc etc. Overall I'm pretty happy with this set. Now I just need to work on getting better at painting XD
