FYI! the velcro did not hold up, I am going to go look for the aquarium glue, something that will not leach anything into the water. My brushes are still looking good. Very Happy

TheGildedCat wrote:I have access to numerous discarded surgical scrub brushes. They come with a sponge attached, but it's very easy to remove. I'd be happy to ship them to anyone just for the cost of shipping. I hate to throw so many away, but we throw away usually 2 per surgery (if two people scrub in), and there are usually several surgeries per day. They're not used on patients, only on the doctor's hands. Let me know if you'd like some and how many.
This is what they look like:

Again, the sponge pulls right out.

Julie, how much to send 2 or 3 over my way? v4n 0w3

Kristal, will you let me know the answer? It's probably similar to what I'll pay and I haven't gone to search locally for them yet, so curious.

I was wondering, would one of these work? They are a lot cheaper than the sensory brushes or the medical scrub brushes.

I think it would...its a little stiffer than the surgical brushes but it would be a lot better than the sharp plastic baffles at the bottom of my brush bath. I think the advantage of the surgical brushes is so many bristles in such a small space.

hmmm...well I usually get free shipping through amazon student, but that doesn't apply to everything. If it does apply, I will order one and try it out. If not, I also found a pack of six sensory brushes for $13, which I know have free shipping, so I may get those instead.

I'll head over the post office on Monday and get an idea on prices and what I can ship them in for the cheapest. I have a bag of about 30 scrub brushes to send out!

Fluffy... What a Face

I don't know what to say. My synthetic cheap brushes didn't like it but my more sable type brushes seem fine. But the brushes seem to go back to a point when I paint...so the jury is still out.

I love that I can use the same brush in a design and just wash it out and it's ready to go. I'm going to put them in my other brush bath.

Thanks! I saw a Valentine jaguar in purples at Hobby Lobby and loved the colors so I came back and painted mine. Now that I've seen how other face painters use other colors for tigers and jaguars, I'm going start branching out more.

@Kristal and 1HappyNut - shipping starts at $3.15 to Canada (website said "varies by location, even with inputting the postal code), plus whatever the cheapest I can find for a little packet/envelope to send them in. 4 scrubbers weigh just slightly over an ounce, and they pack pretty close together, so I can't imagine shipping would be over $4 at the most.

Shipping to most of the US seems to be in the $2.50-$3 range, possibly less depending on how cheaply I can find packets/envelopes.

@Lorie - paypal is fine - which email should I send it to? Total was $2.10 (1.95 USPS shipping + 0.15 for the envelope).
