Thanks! Just got back from classes with Pashur and Dutch. They're both amazing instructors. I picked up loads of great techniques. The big AHA moment was when Pashur taught me how to use filberts for shading! Duh! Don't know why I didn't do that before. I think maybe because I've been so worried about painting FAST, I skipped that step. So excited to paint this Halloween!

Thanks for all the entries. I am working on the voting right now. I noticed there are 3-4 entries that didn't follow the rules of either posting a step by step, a final picture or postig the link in the message to be viewed rather than taking folks to another site. As stated the last two months, we will no longer be contacting painters to correct these because sometimes it takes days to hear back. I have to stay on schedule. Thanks so much!

I keep trying to post a photo, but I can't get it to work, so please check out my avatar...It is my post. I'm not entering the contest, but I wanted to put it on here anyway. My daughter actually asked me to paint her, which never happens, but they are studying sugar skulls in art class, so she wanted to be one...a cute one with no skull teeth. The only catch was I had to let her paint me too. The only problem was that I had to go to Staples and buy a gift, so we went fully painted....Her as you see and me as child's rendition of a sugar skull that somewhat resembled a demented clown. Thank goodness it is close to Halloween. We still got a lot of funny looks!!! The things we do for our craft and our kids!!!!!!

Tasha, at first I didn't know what you mean about the "OC Flavor", but looking back at my picture I see what you mean, lol, I guess it's just in mean because that was not on purpose, lol.

so I'm pretty sure Vanessa that your Sugar Skull Avatar was among many other pics from this forum - I can't remember who had their avatar with the pretty girl with the detailed blue & purple butterly that was also there (as well as other sources), printed and posted as selections on a competitors charts this past weekend.
