Re: Post Submissions Here!
Riana. Thank you so much. Just between you and me I do actually feel like I've had a bit of a growth spurt. I feel like if I just start working at some gigs, it'll only help me further.
Leslie. hahahaha i know what you meen about the wrinkles! I also find the soft tissue under my eyes is like a mindfield when try to paint fines lines! Drives me crazy. Give me a young fresh faced canvas any day. Nice colourful skull.
Jen. Super pretty skull. I actually don't think it looks too busy, and I love the colour choice.
Vinnie so glad you entered your first challenge! YAY. Beautiful elegant skull. LOVE LOVE your hair, and yes, great photography.

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Thank you for your compliments! Haha Rae! I also had problems under my eyes!
Re: Post Submissions Here!
I love how everyone has totally different styles and even more different skulls!
Re: Post Submissions Here!
sorry the writing is so small didn't notice until i posted and the slide show wouldn't let me go back and edit. also when i try to add a final pic the message comes up as 404 not found?
Re: Post Submissions Here!
Thanks Jen! If you call pvc pipes and a curtain a studio....then yes, I do, lol. I use pvc pipes as the frame and hang a black curtain from it as my background. For lighting, I like to bounce light off my wall with my flash.
Thanks for the compliment Rae! I LOVE, LOVE your sugar skull!!! I painted my sister, wish I was good enough to paint myself, not there yet. My mom and sister love the 30s/40s era, so they love doing their hair like this for photo shoots. My mom is a hair stylist. You can google Retro Do's for more of her work.

Ā”Sinny, eres la bomba! You look awesome with your peacock design and your eyelashes are just WOW! Aren't they hard to use? My eyes are really sensitive and I'm afraid of using them...

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Okay! Here is my first ever contest entry. It seems like there are a lot of first timers this go round. My #3 brush point got mushy about half way through, so my line work is wretched, but overall, I'm happy. I've only been painting a month or so, so hopefully I'll get better. I love all the creativity in the forum. Thanks for the inspiration!
Materials:
DFX black and white
Silly Farm Wonder Pallete: purple/metallic rose, pink/red, teal/lilac
Tulip silver
#3 brush, #6 brush, sponge

they do feel a bit funny. and there is definitely a nack to putting them on. the plain ones i was wearing on my other sugar skull weren't too bad but these i ripped off straight after my pics lol. try getting some cheap ones off of ebay and practice they are soo cheap doesn't matter if u stuff them up, also glitter tat glue works just as good as eyelash glue to stick them on.
Re: Post Submissions Here!
Thanks, Synni! I'm so jealous of your eyelashes so I'm thinking I'll try it...

Re: Post Submissions Here!
hahaha Synni you did it!! awesome.
Vinnie, thank you, I actually find it much easier to paint myself than others. Is that weird? I don't know, but it's something I obviously have to break. I looked up the retro dos, you mom is very clever. You've got to cash in on that girl, beautiful sister, clever stylist mom, your face painting and photography. You've got the complete set.
Otter Girl. Welcome to the challenge. I like your shading from the temples up, it really gives it a more skull like appearance. Nice use of gems too.
Letmepaint you. Wow. I love it.
Woo Hoo!! Our skulls are getting more creative by the minute.

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Sorry about the ginormous pictures, all! I'll try to scale them down.
*edit* Ok, they are more manageable now. Sorry about that!
