Re: Post Submissions Here!
good job!! looks just like your inspiration pic. i especially like the flower on the forehead. I finished one today. Probably post it tomorrow. Never knew about sugar skuls till I joined the forum and saw them popping up here and there. Seems I get most of my education from the forum these days. lol.
Re: Post Submissions Here!
Thanks guys. I'm excited to see everyones. For some reason they really appeal to me. I should paint one on myself. Maybe I'll wait for all the tutorials.

Hey there, a newbie face painter, but what the hey! I am going to try anyways!
1. I started by sponging on white Diamond FX
2. Then I used a 1/2"brush to make petals around her eyes using on the purple and pink out of my Arty Brush Aqua cake.
3. I added Wolfe black to the eyes and outlined the eyes with a #1 round brush also using wolfe black.
4. I then took paradise dark pink and made a heart and outlined it also with wolfe black, and added some pink glitter to the heart.
5. I then used DFX sea green and added swirls and tear drops, and then highlighted with TAG pearl green! All kinds of brands on this face-lol!
6. I made the teeth with a small #1 rd brush and dark pink paradise paint and outlined the face with it also.

Re: Post Submissions Here!
thank you ladies. I am quite pleased with this one. I looked at a bunch of images of sugar skulls and then went away and came up with this one without any other reference. Trying really hard to come up with stuff on my own. Complete indulgence, took ages. hahaha not one for line work or parties, but hey these challenges allow us to flex some different muscles right??
scgilland, I really love yours!! It's super cute and pretty!!! Love the colour combos, specially the use of sea green and teal. Perfect for little girls. I'm keeping this one for inspiration. Thanks.

Re: Post Submissions Here!
alright I'm really going to have to learn that if I am considering entering a contest, not to look at any of the other entries until AFTER I have submitted mine, because it just makes me want to give up, so awesome! It's going to be great to see all the different versions everyone comes up with, from cute and girly to elegant and detailed, to creepy scary! Great way to gear up for Halloween...

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Materials:
Brushes: #3 round, #4 round, #1 round, #4 flat; sponge
Paint: Tag Berry Wine (purple); Wolfe FX black; Wolfe FX white; TAG pearl black; FAB red; Wolfe FX gray
Step 1: sponge white all over face leaving spaces around eyes and nostrils and mouth.
Step 2: Fill in spaces with Black paint using brush. Fill in nose with upside down heart. Fill in lips, larger than normal using red.
Step 3: draw in lines for teeth marks along mouth. Using purple, draw outline around eye marks and then make drops for lace around eyes, try to fill in completely.
Step 4: using a very dry #4 flat brush, fill with black and then wipe most of the paint off. Dry brush in the shadows around temples, around mouth, at chin and any other areas you want some shadow.
Step 5: Outline eye areas in black. Taking gray mixed with purple, draw in thicker lines the shape of the web. Once dry, take a #1 round filled with black and draw the web again in thinner lines. Paint a spider hanging from web in between eyes.
Step 6: using a #4 or smaller, do swirls, hearts or any other designs you like around the face. Draw details around nostril heart, draw heart on chin or anywhere else you have empty space.
Step 7: load a #2 round with white and add highlights to design, do as many dots as you like and overlay other designs to create depth.
Step 8: put on a wig and act a complete fool, try not to look like a hooker!
