What a talented group....I LOVE the roses.

Well, I am now sitting in a puddle of drool!
WOW!!!! I can't believe how amazing all these roses are, you guys rock!
This is going to be a very hard competition.

Thanks! Yellow roses are my fave. But wicked hard to paint on the side of your face, I found.

I've found all roses are hard to paint on the side of your face. One reason I like my edgey style of outlining(ohh, my secret is out)!

I was just messing around and practicing my roses today. Thought that I would enter this. It was my first attempt.
I couldn't get the slide show to work, so I had to do it this way.

Colors used:
Paradise Amazon Green, Paradise dark green, Paradise Black, Paradise Beach Berry, and Paradise Storm Cloud

Used DFX metallic Red,Metallic Green,Black and White.
For drawing I use a black kohl pencil.

1.Draw the design.
2.Add color.
3.Add some shadows.
4.Outline with black.
5 Highlight with white.

DONE!!

Anita, I love that you have the stem going through the skin. Such a cool effect!

1: paint centre of rose with berry wine
2: add a touch of white & create extra sides to the centre. Then fan out 3 more sides with flat brush.
3: dry brush white
4: outline with white add dots to centre
5: add leaves & outline
6: add dot flowers & swirls & smaller roses
7: finish off with glitter.

Materials used: TAG berry wine, Paradise green & teal, TAG dark green from Snake split cake, wolfe white, details white, #2 & #4 round brush, 1/4 rake brush, #12 flat brush.

I painted the top part of mine with markers LOL I was at the office my myself with nothing to do

thanks so much guys. I was so disappointed with the last one and so obsessed with roses lately, I had to give it a shot. i'm not thrilled with the stem/vines, but I was really worn out by the time I got to them. lol!

It's never fun for me to try something for the first time..... all that BS self confidence I seem to be lacking - but i did it - I jumped in to the rose thing with two feet. I went for the tattoo style, as it's just more to my taste then all the pretty frilly ones you girls are so awesome at onestroking.
Sooo - here's hoping the post works - as my computer is refusing to resize - something about Disk space(?)
I used Paradise red, black and dark green.... and some Tag pearl white for highlighting.
Oh and a #2 and #4 round.
Line out the rose in black - fill in with red, you can thicken the lines after you fill it in.

Put in some shading and some white accents.

Add leaves in dark green and line them, add accents... and you're done!
