Show us your shoes, Ashley! ^-^

Yes, aprons works well as well! I should really make one for thoses days when I don't have anything to wear.

And I love to look around on Etsy, as well. It can be more expensive but it may very well be the cost if you're looking for something unique.

[quote="Fanie"]I already have a colorful pair of overalls all made of Pareo patches but I need to repair it as it's getting old.Smile

Fanie! You stole my costume! Kidding, but go to http://www.funfacepainting.com/companypicnicideas.html

See my shirt in the top right? It looks like it is was made by the same people who made yours! Anyway, I have about 10 shirts in that style. They got old too. I am constantly sitting it front of the TV with a needle and thread. But, I spiced them up by added glitter and metallic fabric paints! You can barely see some swirls I added in gold in that photo. Could you spruce yours up the same way?

Hey, it really looks like it's the same people that made it! :-D That's funny!
I bought it years ago at a small hippie/bead shop in my town. It's writen "Abrakadabra" on the tag and it was made in Indonesia.
I used to wear it in college (Yes, seriously! lol!) and kept it for facepainting.

I just need to take the time to repair some patches with a needle and some thread. Which I should do instead of being online! :-p

And franckly, I'm just a little tired of the costume. I wore it for years and need some change. Change do good for my mind. ^-^

The only uniform I have is a basic apron I picked up in the catering dept. Eventually, I'll make an iron-on of my name. Otherwise I dress for comfort.

Shannon, maybe you can talk your local theater into doing Grease 2, and then send one my way!

I've really enjoyed reading this thread. I've been struggling with a "look" for a while. I had this great idea to wear crazy tights, converse, and a petticoat. Once I got it on, it was way over the top! Plus, the petticoat was so big, when I sat down it was all over place! Not practical for face painting at all. So now I'm going with crazy socks, capri pants, and aprons. I'm sure it will continue to evolve but I really like the socks and converse so that will probably stick. (I'm hoping santa will be bringing these alice in wonderland socks I've been wanting!)
I agree with you all that it's good to be a little different from the crowd. It's also a great excuse to wear things you've secretly wanted to wear but never dared to!
Those fairy costumes are cute and I love the overalls!
Here's a pic of one of my looks.

Don't be afraid to try some fabric paint to really makey our aprons - or whatever you love - pop.

I have a few tips on fabric painting at
http://paintonfabric.com/book.html

I really love the fabric paints that have a fine tip with glitter. You can write all kinds of things, like: PROFESSIONAL FACE PAINTER, and use it as an adhesive for rhinestones.

Generally I just wear jeans with a nice black top and goofy socks. Its a more professional look, paint doesn't show up on my shirt, and it's easy to pick out what I'll be wearing. The socks just add a bit of quirkiness.

Erica - Cute, colorful and quirky!!! Love it!! Love the Chucks!!!! Did you
make your apron?? I love how it coordinates with the socks and the black makes a nice practical crisp professional underlayer!

I want to airbrush stencil a few things (case, chair, apron, shirts) like I have seen a few artists do nicely. My forum buddies always find new ways to inspire me!!! Thanks!

I wear all black. I have created a logo and branded everything I can with it! I'm not a clown -I paint so I dress like a makeup artist. I have black button downs, polo's and t shirts. I do indulge in funny socks and at times wear bunny ears or antlers. I wear what makes me look the most professional and the most comfortable. I am sure my ideas on how I want to look will evolve like everything elsse. Love queensboro great pricing and very easy to to work with.

I do want to get jersies (sp?) I think that would be cool too.

Love those overalls they would have to pry them off my cold dead body!
