New Facepainter from Cincinnati
Hi all!
My name is Aryn and I have just joined the forum, so I thought I would say hello. I work full time in a copy center, and I am a new tattoo artist. Just finished my apprenticeship.
I have been painting and doing art since before I can remember, but with-in the last couple years I have started delving into face and body painting. I was really inspired after being one of the official photographers for the Midwest Haunters Convention last year. I saw some amazing stuff! It was awesome to meet and see people like the Wolfe brothers, Pashur, and Nick Herrera first hand at work. Very inspiring.
Then I volunteered at the Dent Schoolhouse (a local but nationally acclaimed haunted house) doing make-up and acting. It was great fun and I learned a lot about make-up and special fx, but I always preferred doing 2-D make-up.
Since then I have been hired for a few facepainting jobs, and they have gone well, but I'm really at a point where I want to work out all the kinks, find the facepaint that works the best, and really set-up shop so that eventually I can do face-painting as a part time job at least. So I'm looking for advice and insight, paint and design wise. As well as tips and tricks to get the best results.
Currently I use Kryolan Aquacolor facepaint pre-dominantly, I love how they blend. I also use Wolfe white and black for line work and highlights. I'm looking into trying out paradise...I just really want colors that pop.

Re: New Facepainter from Cincinnati
Welcome
I love paradise for the smell. Some people dont. Smells like suntan lotion and the beach. The black and white aren't great for line work, but I love the rest. Every time I open my palette I want a lounge chair and an umbrella over my head and in my drink.
