Re: Show and Tell #3 March - May 2013
Neon: Pink, orange, jellow, green, blue and purple. Neon rainbow. I'm not completely satisfied with the lines, the black paint is to thick and when i'm adding water it is to watery. The brush hairs are to long so i don't have much controle over it. Maybe with a little more practice i'm gonne learn te work with this paint and brush

Re: Show and Tell #3 March - May 2013
That is absolutely gorgeous Sneezle! Must have taken a long time... Thanks for the compliments ladies! I used a pineapple bling cluster for Briahna's forehead because the gelati cake feels so tropical to me. Sneezle I always had trouble with white over black to until I switched to wolfe, also make sure the black is super dry first. Hope that helps...
Re: Show and Tell #3 March - May 2013
The Neon colours were drie but still the white wasn't covering enough. I already looked in webshops in the Netherlands but they don't sell Wolfe white. Too bad. Thanks for your advise, maybe i can order it somewhere else.
Prairy painter, thank you very much

Can you get DFX white? Or maybe you're already using that.

Re: Show and Tell #3 March - May 2013
DFX White is ok but IMO Wolfe white is even brighter white. They sell it here in the forum shop and on silly farm, if you are able to order form either place?

DFX White, i can try ore else i should probably let it ship to the Netherlands. If the Wolfe white is the best i consider to buy it. Thanks for you advice lady's. If it is the best it's better than getting frustrated about the one i'm using. I have the same problem with my grimas black facepaint, it is not easy smearing.
Amylady222, thank you, i love your rainbow butterfly. I tried one myself today, my daughter is going te school tonight for the Art project eving. Closing night of the art project......

Katurah thx, I knowww should be fun. Can't wait to be there!
Paola I have a Minnie Mouse costume, and I'll bring a friend to help me, we worked together at a party company, she's a good face painter but no longer in this business. She wants to come and I'm happy.
Today I had so little time to practice, found this design on internet, it was kinda hard to do it with snaz but here it is...

Re: Show and Tell #3 March - May 2013
Lizzie i love the unicorn!!! I know what you mean by hard with Snazaroo!!! I have been struggling with tears drops and dots!!!! Ahhhh
So happy you have a friend!! You will be such a cute Minnie!!!
Sneezle i like your butterfly, nice colors too!!
If i can add something Lisa Joy Young said when using white on top of colors, let it dry and repeat the tears drops on top! No matter how good the white is some colors just can be seen through! I actually love it!! Because the tears drops seems to have been painted in different colors and it adds movement. You had a brilliant idea to outline them in black try a smaller brush see if that works better for you. It would be also good to practise thin to thick lines with different brushes till u find the one that works best for you. I am still searching!!!
See Lisa Joy Young Pegasus in you tube!! That is a good example of the white tears drops changing colors snd looking great!

Re: Show and Tell #3 March - May 2013
Omg my daughter let me paint her today!!!! She wasn't happy about it but at least i got to paint her. she had a friend over and I was ecstatic when the friend asked me to paint her face with a , yes you guessed it,,,a butterfly. At first she said elephant which got me thinking , ooh maybe something cute like dumbo with an ear going over one eye, but then she changed her mind just before i started and wanted a butterfly. I probably should of posted it in the 'I suck at butterflies thread, or the who can paint the squarest butterfly thread, but here it is.
The poser with the eye design and barb wire is my daughter , she reluctantly sat in the chair and was trying to do her own lips with glitter as I was doing her eye!! Sorry they're so large.

Gorgeous Silversky. Beautifull butterfly and eye design. Your barbed wire is really cool. Did you use a stencil ore did you paint it??? Great job with the highlights.

Re: Show and Tell #3 March - May 2013
Please don't say that!!! I like your butterfly Silversky very pretty colors and lines snd dots. If it is ok for me to say there is one thing i try to keep in mind when i do mine, as there are no really rules, that Lisa Joy Young said ....if the butterfly does not look right most of the time she finds that the bottom wing is too big, try to keep the bottom wing smaller then the top and the butterfly will look better. I don't know why but when i follow it my butterfly looks a lot better. Love your eye design and your arm tattoo. Great work!!
Sneezle you just reminded me something that correct thick outlines!!! you could do more white tears drop on top trying to keep the black outlines but making them thinner and shadowed!!
Sure you can add tears drops to the tear drop you can even use a different color and do them smaller inside. i have seen that too. I even do it when my tear drop is wonky!!

Your eye design is lovely! And I love how you added a bullet hole to the zombie lol maybe a little to morbid for some parents though...but my kids would love that!

Thanks sneezel, No stencil, Just a lot of help from Mark Reid ,I watched his tats and tribal class on FABA he shows how to shadow and highlight . I treated myself to faba as an early birthday present. November isn't that far away, is it???
Thanks for the butterfly tips Paola, need lots more practice...
Wow Daphne that sugar skull popped right out at me, beautiful.
