Show and Tell September 2013!
lets see what everyone has been up to this month
i got my one strokes in and this is what i have been playing around with
i have a festival coming up and these are some of the designs i will be using...the boys in the family were not up for getting face painted today for more "boyish" designs so ill have to get them in the next couple of day lol

Re: Show and Tell September 2013!
My tiger based off Lisa Joy Young's Rainbow tiger, Used my mermaid pixie cake from silly farm instead of a rainbow cake.
My tiger from the snazaroo book... leaving it shown from the "good" side, I butchered the other side.
and I think I figured out one of my hang ups on sponging and lines, I pay to much attention to my eyebrow. and that the bulk of my sponges are two harsh and stiff... snaz red... the pink ones that came with the snaz kit are kinda awesome.

Nice work Natasha and Russett. I haven't posted In a while, every time I go to add a few I end up catching up on all the posts and then forget to add photos.

Re: Show and Tell September 2013!
only 2 days painting, but been spending the whole time while my supplies have been trickling in watching videos, and was rather active in the Arts community (photographer) down in San Antonio, not the same as doing, but real world watching and actually seeing the texture and stroke can make a little difference sometimes.
An arm of flowers, working on flowers and dots, have a friend coming over Tuesday and is planning on wearing what I do to her out to dinner (casual gathering of friends), so I want something.
my attempt at a wuppie, today was just playing with yellow and red, sorry for the focus, used a kabuki sponge, don't have any daubers yet.

Re: Show and Tell September 2013!
Well... digging through my photos, I couldn't find very many pics that were worth sharing... and none of those had release forms signed. But, I just got done with an event yesterday. We did it pro-bono as it was a community event (Spirit of Muldoon Picnic) to support moving forward with trying to get the Municipality of Anchorage to dedicate a strip of greenbelt as parkland instead of sectioning it up and reselling it as yet more unneeded commercial/residential real estate along Muldoon Road just south of the Muldoon Mall near the Debarr intersection (for those that are somewhat familiar with Anchorage roads in Alaska).
I only took pictures of people (or their parents/guardians) who signed waivers, and some of the work did not turn out nearly as well as I had hoped.

One of my cohorts also slipped in a few pics on the same waiver... I'm kinda jealous of Emily's work,

Re: Show and Tell September 2013!
Looks like there's some party going on, on school?
Because otherwise in the Netherlands kids only dress up with Carnaval!
I love the costumes and facepaint!!

Re: Show and Tell September 2013!
l!zzie and DannyB We had Lampegietersavond. Don't know how to translate. It's a annually traditional festival in Veenendaal in the middle of the Netherlands. At the third monday of September they used to put oil in the oil lamps in the wool and sigar factory so they could work after sunset. Every year we celebrate this day. In the afternoon they can go to school all dressed up and they have a little party and walk around our neighbourhood with lampions/lantern they made at school. In the evening we have a parade with a fanfare and all the kids hold a lampion/lantern with a light in it (we used to put a candle in the lantern but often we had a lantern on fire). After the parade we drink hot chocolate with a cinnamon biscuit.

Re: Show and Tell September 2013!
Gorgeous photos! Love the little schoolchildren. :-D
I've been trying to design a feathery mask recently, and got this far - it's only a draft at the moment, I'm in the process of refining it and making it quicker.
Also, this might make you laugh. I was in pain so my very, very patient best friend (he was visiting from Ireland) told me to paint him however I wanted in order to take my mind off it. This was the result:
Tee hee!

Oh, and I hope it's OK for me to put a couple of back paints in here - I know they're not on the face, so if I've broken any rules, just tell me and I'll delete!

Re: Show and Tell September 2013!
Awesome back art, I love the flower mask and the feathers are awesome. Work has been kicking my butt so I have not been practicing as much as I should be. Have a party Saturday and many people willing to sit under my brush so I will have practice and pictures to post after the party.

Re: Show and Tell September 2013!
Nice Designs Kammy,
I tried my first sugar skulls yesterday, inspired by Vinnie, Daizy and Kate Monroe.
It didn't really turn out how I wanted it to, but I think it was a pretty good start...

Re: Show and Tell September 2013!
Thanks for the kind words, everyone.
DannyB - your first sugar skull is far better than mine was! You've got that whole "pretty yet spooky" thing sussed. Love it.
