I don't know that I'd be concerned about wrinkled feathers. We need to educate people. The Painting Place took down about 50 pictures as a result of the negative attention, but she also deleted all of the comments that other painters left on her page and even her own comment about how we were brutal for going after her.

Is ok to use them as isnpiration, just for practice a then little by little you add your own stile, but is not ok to use them at your web site, facebook, etc, and claimed as your creation, just for inspiration is good, I always put the "inspired by ............." if I use it as inspiration at the bottom of the pic.

I think for inspiration is fine. I always take the design and tweak it some to fit my own with different colors or textures. The first try at the design, I will put inspired by or some note in the description.

I have a face painting that was published in a book recently that was inspired by the Wolfe brothers design, but the publisher did not note it even though I told them Sad

On Snazaroo they state that you can use the pictures as long as they are a certain size and you put the artists name on there. Also, you cannot sell them. I try to take pictures of my own work and post that. I have used a picture from a book with the artist name until I have painted it, took a picture for my own display. You can also contact the artist for their permission. If that artist is on Snazaroo, then they allow this.

Not on the Snazaroo.US site. You must be talking about the Snazaroo.com site.

Snazaroo.us clearly states that the photos are the property of the owner and are NOT to use used without permission. The only photos that are allowed to be used are the pages of top designs that are available and each artist has given specific permission for that. But the photos in the Snaz photo pages ARE not available for use without the permission of the owner.
