I'm scanning for my photos on the net today... unfortunately it is a rather successful exercise...

up on the right it says "FLAG" click that. But you have to at least 3 people flag it for it to come off. do you have the craigslist link? I will flag for you also.

Re: Still more stolen photos
Wow...They have some nerve. I mean, the picture has your name right across it! You can't be more clear than that.
Re: Still more stolen photos
I'm guessing they are probably all "borrowed"
I've been busy all day with Google image search... very educational.

Shannon - the compliment is that you are so talented that people everywhere admire your work. That being said, haven't these borrowers heard about copyright infringement????
Re: Still more stolen photos
It'd be nicer if they sent you a note to compliment you instead That sux Shannon

Re: Still more stolen photos
Love that they stole your pics with the freaking watermark over top....oy!
Re: Still more stolen photos
What is Google Image search Shannon? Do you put in your own images and search?
Re: Still more stolen photos
Gigmasters (I mistakenly said Craigs List in my original post) removed the photo pretty fast - I sent them an email, and this morning is their response. I just used the contact us feature.
And Google image search is really easy. Got to Google images, in the box is a little camera icon, click on it and another box pops up where you put your photo - you can paste a link to it or upload it, then enter. Google finds all* the copies (*maybe) of that image, and similar images, on the internet.
Pretty interesting.

Re: Still more stolen photos
Oh.... I'm very afraid to do that... it sounds time consuming if I find what I think I might find....
So, how much imagery have you found stolen outside of the Gig master listing?

Re: Still more stolen photos
Lots... I only searched for about 5 of my photos that I know get lifted... and found all of them in other places - there are a whole bunch posted on Eastern European sites that I can't figure out (haven't bothered to use Google translate) so not sure WHO to contact to get them removed.
I was busy sending cease and desist notices to the ones that were in English.

Re: Still more stolen photos
Sorry, asked the question in another topic, and here's the answer!
I don't have the camera option, do I have to log in first to get it?

Re: Still more stolen photos
Not sure... I'm always logged in to Google. Are you in Images? the icon is right inside the box to the right?

Re: Still more stolen photos
l!zzie you don't need to be logged in at all. I just went & had a look for myself curiosty got the better of me. When your on the google image main page in the area that you would type in there is a little camera icon (it's very pale blue) on the far right of the type in box. Hope you can understand what I mean I tried to copy & paste it here so you could get a visual, but I was unable to.
Re: Still more stolen photos
I'm sorry... Searched on Google.nl and Google.com images, but don't get the camera... Maybe I've got a different version (chrome or something like that?), will try it at work!
Couldn't place a print screen either.
I'm not worrying about pictures being stolen from me (not that good) but just curious how it works!
Thanks for explaining!

Re: Still more stolen photos
It's official, except for the one site that was taken down, nothing of mine has been theft worthy
Re: Still more stolen photos
I usually notify someone when I find a picture that does not fit.. or if the whole "gallery" looks all over the place, I might be motivated. The google camera is the little camera icon in the attached picture:
(Don't click on it...just a picture - grin... Hyperlink is: Image Search - Google

Re: Still more stolen photos
I am new and must admit that I download pics to practice while I develope my own designs......is that OK? If I paint someone else's design....is it ok to post the pic if I say it is not MY original design but inspired by someone elses?
I don't know all the rules yet. Sorry for my ignorance!

Re: Still more stolen photos
OMG I had no idea about this Google feature and I found a site with one of my pictures! http://everythinginbudget.blogspot.com/2012/01/k-party-shop-50-off-unlimited-face.html
The bottom one is mine. I can't believe this! Working on finding a contact email...

Re: Still more stolen photos
It is just fine to copy someone else's design onto your own face or other peoples faces. It is NOT okay to put other artists work on your board and make it appear as if you painted that image. (For instance, I COPIED a picture of a Siberian Tiger onto my 17 year old daughter's face. I painted her. I was inspired by the photograph. I will not post a picture of the actual tiger. ) Someone on the Forum posted a fabulous picture of herself painted like a Chinese Dragon. I copied that design on my own face. I would post my painted copy in my book. I would not actually put that photo in my book of choices...it takes too damn long.
Just put up artwork that YOU have actually painted. I do not even take my inspiration book with me. I have Googled an image to paint Optimus Prime. (Don't like painting Optimus Prime). I do not put any image on my board that I have not painted myself.

Re: Still more stolen photos
i'm the same way - i display only my own painted pics.....causes chances are if you haven't painted it yourself when you do, it won't look like the original - and that's just disappointing to whoever you're painting - it is like false advertising.

This is really weird.... I click your link, get the google image page, without the camera!!!
Keep on thinking I have to register first?
Edit: hubbie had the solution... Do you have Google Chrome? Because that has the option searching with pics... We don't have Chrome...
