Re: Constructive Feedback!!!
LOL, of course you can painted!!! It is one of the designs I am working on for my animal mask collection that does not go around the mouth! Anyone here is welcome to try my designs!! Seems I am being asked that a lot lately, lol!!!
You will love this one, it is so fast, I just sponged white around the eyes, painted on the beak, filled in the black and did outward strokes to give it the feathered look. And lots of clear glitter on top. Would love to see your version when you get to it!!

I cover those odd starts w/ a series of teardrops that reduce in size. I often cover my rainbows on either side w/ clouds & then do the stars throughout the design. Don't outline the star in black, but just shadow every other line(if this makes sense). The line work stinks on these examples, but it'll give you the idea.
Give your swirls a tear drops a focal point for the tips to point at... the corner of the eye, the start of the eyebrow, the tear duct, etc. This will improve them

Re: Constructive Feedback!!!
my teardrops are far better now than they were in that picture... it's the overall design I'm trying to rework. The beak would probably look better that way... I think I'm liking the overall shape of the red one better, but yes, it needs more colours somehow....
Re: Constructive Feedback!!!
Perry, on the red one, what if you faded gold from the eyes into the red as you went outward. It would give it some contrast & some pop.
I agree, more teardrops for the blue one to fill in the neg space.
I love the penguin mask!

I love the bottom of the butterfly, I like that hint of a wing. It makes it more sophisticated or big girl style. I love the multi color spots, that I gotta steal for sure.
The focal point is not obvious to me. I would change the top of the wings, open it up and pick the center/bridge of the nose as the focal point.
I still love that butterfly.

Re: Constructive Feedback!!!
I have some I would like critiqued. I will try to post before I go to bed.
Re: Constructive Feedback!!!
ok, I love how you used rainbow in the turtles shell, but I think the design in the turtles shell needs to be thicker and more rounded shaped like a bee hive, but not to much, you dont want to cover the pretty color.
The nose of the unicorn is off, but if you go back to the beginning of this thread there are tips on unicorns.
I like the giraffe, but it needs more spots i think.
And your tiger masks are not bad at all, The tiger pic before the unicorn, i dont quite get the hair coming out of the design on your forhead, i does not seem to match the rest of the design.
your snake head is good, cant really see the body very well, but it looks like it needs outlined better and highlighted with white, it makes a difference.
Here are a couple of pics of my snakes...

Re: Constructive Feedback!!!
My snakes arent the best, just an example of how it looks outlined and has white highlights.
Re: Constructive Feedback!!!
Ok so i saw a pic similar to this on SF's site, but there's is WOW and i'm trying the phoenix approach. I'm thinking I can bump up the price of this at festivals if I add glitter gel...
And with the first pic/butterfly, I think adding glitter gel as an outline would make it POP and maybe some tiny antennea

Re: Constructive Feedback!!!
Love the pheonix!! cool design. Adding glitter gel would be nice but you dont need it. And the head looks really good!!!
Good example of a snake and I like how you used a pic with the snake in a diff. color than green. The leaves are a nice add on as well, i just saw the leaves being used in a pic about a month ago, but have not had a chance to paint a snake to try them.

Re: Constructive Feedback!!!
Hey Changingface!
Agree with the highlights on the snake and the unicorn head.
Also, was curious what size of brush you were using for your tiger stripes. The stripes would look better if you tapered off the ends of the stripes. Thin-thick-thin. Maybe a smaller brush, or a stiffer brush perhaps. Just practice on your arm, thin (light pressure) thick (press down) thin (lift back up on the pressure).
And both snakes would benefit with some evil eyes. Will see if I can post a picture later.

Re: Constructive Feedback!!!
For the phoenix, I"d say to make the feathers look more fire-like, especially on the top of the head. I posted a link on making flames a while back that really helped me a lot.

Re: Constructive Feedback!!!
Thanks painted, I have a hard time with eyes all together, I like the cute dreamy eyes used on the unicorns, and evil eyes would rock.....
I Can never seem to pull the dreamy eyes off.... its weird how some things you can be really good at and suck at others, lol.

Re: Constructive Feedback!!!
The evil eyes, all it would take is painting the scowl with the eyebrow. Looks like a check mark, right on top of the white of the eye.
Re: Constructive Feedback!!!
how easy is that, lol!! feeling a little duhhhhh!! What about dreamy eyes?
Re: Constructive Feedback!!!
Brian wolf shared a cutsie eye he does all the time.... humm.. Let me find the picture.
and you can see the mean eye too underneath.

That is awsome painted!!! I know I will be coming back to this pic. often!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!
Re: Constructive Feedback!!!
WOW! Everything is so good I'm not sure how to critique it:-)
Changing, The peacock feet look a little weird(almost remind me of t-rex arms. Love the colors. You probably don't even need the feet.
Practice your linework like crazy. This will help you get clean thin-fat-thin strokes. Using the tear ducts as your focal point to aim at will give your tigers more dimension.
I absolutely love the giraffe!

Re: Constructive Feedback!!!
Thank you guys for your help. I can see this thread being a big help to many of us... or at least for those of us that can accept the critiques for what they are.... a means to an end to improve upon our skillset. So again Thank you
Re: Constructive Feedback!!!
Okay, so I've got some, and I'll be throwing more this way soon, also.
