Relay for Life question Empty Relay for Life question

Post by Linda Adams Fri May 08, 2009 1:09 pm

For those of you who have face painted at a Relay for Life...if it is
a pay per face while the event is going on.....What do you donate to
the team you are painting for?
100%?
seems reasonable since the whole event is to raise money for cancer
research.
Please excuse my ignorance, because I've never even been to a Relay
event before.

Thanks,
Linda Adams

I haven't done relay for life, but I'm doing several other fundraisers this summer... I'm offering 50% of pay per face to cover my expenses.... not trying to be greedy, but everyone is a charity right now and this is my job... I can't be donating everything all the time.

I am doing a relay for life event tomarrow. Its a pay per face. They just wanted cheek art, so I am charging $2 and giving Relay for Life $1 of each one. The event is just a few blocks from my house. So other then the cost of paint I really don't have any expenses, the $1 per face I get should cover it. Plus it is helping out a charity and maybe it will bring more business.

Relay for Life question Empty Re: Relay for Life question

I used to work for the Canadian Cancer Society and still volunteer at the Relay for Life here. The rule here is that NOTHING is charged for on the grounds of the event. All vendors are DONATING their services (food, entertainment, clowns, portapotties, water, etc. etc. etc.) and teams cannot solicit money at the actual event.

I don't paint - I work in another capacity at the event, but there is a clown that face paints the kids - but it is a donation of services for a Gift in Kind receipt.
