relay for life event this weekend

So I was approached awhile back if I would be interested to come to a relay for life event put on by the American Cancer Society not far from where I live.... and I was super excited to do so. Not only to bring some smiles and happiness but wanted to donate a portion of my proceeds as well since my mother is currently fighting double lung cancer as we speak. I had to work eight hours before event started and then rushed over to set up before it started and it was an overnight event 6pm to 6am....I HAD planned on only staying for three hours but of coarse no one showed any interest until around nine oclock and then I was non stop busy till after 11pm!!!!
It was a blast tho... If anyone ever has an opportunity to participate in such I highly recommend it. I think the best part was seeing people being very touched with the personal touches of adding family member's names to their paintings. I even had some tears with some of the customers. I ended up giving almost all my proceeds to the event. It was awesome.

glad it worked out so well and was meaningful as well as fun. hope your mom's treatment goes well. this will be a tough summer in my family, too, a couple people diagnosed with different cancers, more or less earlier stage, but still serious.
