Thank you so much for the warning Fabtastic!! I will be aware of that! I guess I'm not crazy about how big and heavy the directors chairs appear to be. I like the Ikea chair cause it seems "kid sized" but will still hold adults. We'll see how my ppf goes this weekend with the new chair. It will be my first time standing to paint.

They sell chai covers with a pillow insert at silly farm.... for all the non-sewers out there... like me! Smile

It is an excellent starter chair, I bought it because I didn't know if I was going to enjoy standing to paint and I didn't want to spend a lot of money and then find out I hated it. Now that I know I really really prefer standing - I'm willing to spend the money and get a director's chair. Unfortunately the one I want is crazy stupid expensive to ship to Canada and I can't find it here! So I'll continue with the Ikea chair till I can find exactly what I want to replace it. It is nice and light and easy to use. I also use a folding step stool so kids can climb up onto it easier.
