Re: Mini Jam - Face Paint Powders!!
Ooh, pretty!!!!
Did it go on and dry like regular face paint?
I've tried using mica powder with saline solution (contacts solution), and it went on really nice and the colors were great, but it dried to a powdery finish that flaked off.

hmm, i washed it off right away.... I think it was more like a powdery eye shadow type thing. I dont think it would have flaked off.

Re: Mini Jam - Face Paint Powders!!
Well you inspired me, and I placed an order with coastal scents. It got here super fast and of course I couldn't wait to get mixing. My pallette doesn't look quite as pretty as yours I guess I should have taken my time, measured and pressed a little more evenly-- oh well. You are right, these colors are amazing! But you know what? Even if I didn't like the finished powders, I am crazy about the pallette. The tins are interchangeable on a magnet base and are just slightly larger than the pots in the small Paradise pallette. I'm thinking of ordering another just to house my splits.

Re: Mini Jam - Face Paint Powders!!
Suzy, now that you've had the powders for a while, what do you think? Do you use them? Do you have any pics of designs you've done with them? I'd like to make some also, but want to make sure it's something worthwhile 1st. Thanks!
Re: Mini Jam - Face Paint Powders!!
I am so lazy lately, I haven't really been 'playing' Will make sure that I do something exciting with them this week and post the picture for you guys

Re: Mini Jam - Face Paint Powders!!
Okay, I did a video. A poorly made one... just for fun to show you guys the powders.
#1- brushes are okay for small designs but for the whole forehead I should have used a sponge. I tried it on my hand afterward with a sponge and it coated better and faster... so.. without further adooooooooo....

Re: Mini Jam - Face Paint Powders!!
Lonnie's question got me thinking. When I put on my regular makeup I moisten a regular brown eyeshadow and use it in place of eyeliner. Well, these mineral pigments after they're presssed are a lot like eyeshadow. So, here is what it looks like if you use them wet...
Re: Mini Jam - Face Paint Powders!!

Suzy, very cool idea!!
i broke one of my starblends, I wonder if that mixing liquid would allow me to re-press it?

I think if anyone has starblends they have at least 1 broken one!

Re: Mini Jam - Face Paint Powders!!
Here is the ingredient list for the mixing liquid. It doesn't make any sense to me, but maybe you could match it up with the ingredients in Starblends?
Dimethicone.
Cyclomethicene.
Polysorbate 20.
Isopropyl Myristate.
Alcohol.
Now the print is really tiny, so I might have invented a few letters. I will say that it's kind of an oily liquid, and if you add too much it turns into mush- like a cream based eyeshadow- and doesn't smooth on evenly.
