Too Much Paint!!!!
So I know there are many out there that would say there is never too much, but my kit is getting way too big. I started out with almost every snazaroo color, then decided I needed various brands of neons and metallics and have just now ordered every color of paradise. I'm up to a little over 80 pots and I really have no clue how that is going to work out for my set-up. My questions is whether to sell most of my snazaroo stuff or if there is a better use of it that I'm not thinking of. I hate to just put paint in a closet and let it get old if I'm not gonna use it, but I don't want to let go of something that could have been useful. Not sure what to do. Please run some ideas my way. Oh and 90% of my snazaroo paint is still left. I haven't used that much of it.
Re: Too Much Paint!!!!
If it isn't open it will keep. If you've used it Snaz says 18 months after opening. Although I have some that are 10 years old that I still use.
If you don't anticipate using it, sell it.

Re: Too Much Paint!!!!
At some point, having to much paint is stressful atleast for me. I love the idea of having every color, but using it is so much stress.
I only have about 15 main colors in my kit plus about 8 splits. I could work with less main colors really as three or four don't get used much.
Practice with them all and find out which ones you really like and then trade or sell the ones that are so so, for the ones you really love.

Re: Too Much Paint!!!!
You can always put them in the sell or trade section. There are some newbies that would love to experiment on some cheaper priced stuff to help discover what they like and dislike.
Plus, make some money for you....to buy more paint!!

Re: Too Much Paint!!!!
So Shannon, you don't think it makes a difference how long you keep the paint even if it has been used or only if it hasn't been used at all? Because there are some colors that would be nice to have around for charity events or large festivals that I don't want to waste the good stuff on. Let me know since you have paints that have been around a while...
Re: Too Much Paint!!!!
So I think the advice has helped. I think I am going to take everything with me to a couple events, take mental note of what I really do use, and sell the rest. Thanks for the help guys!!!
Re: Too Much Paint!!!!
Another idea is to take similar colors that you have and test them at home. For example, you could take your greens and compare how they look when applied with a brush, then with a sponge, do they stain?, does the color stay bright for a long period of time, etc. Really compare them and keep the ones that meet your high standards.

Re: Too Much Paint!!!!
If you use a design board, you could post pictures of the designs that use the colors that you want to use up.
I have a few Arty cakes that because I don't have a design that uses that paint, I never use it. If I want to use a color, my display board has to have at least a couple of design pics with that color. When that color is gone, take that design down and replace it with another color you want to use up.

Re: Too Much Paint!!!!
WM,
I've got snaz that is from when I started & keep it for charity events. I just spritz it w/ my water & glycerin mix & it creams back up. I also like the idea of expanding your rainbow/split cakes... or you can be a tackle-tart like me

Re: Too Much Paint!!!!
I use up colours and brands I don't like at workshops or when working on shows at the theatre.
