I never want to paint again!!! OMG!

I got some pictures back from the event I did this weekend and OMG... My face is HORRID in each one... I do the "mascara face" on like each kid... I don't even know what to think. I asked my kids/fiance... Do I do this all of the time... They said YESSSSSSSSSSss......... If you are working around their mouth.. You make movements with your mouth... I guess I look mental the whole time I am painting.

Everybody does that with something, to some degree. My sister sticks her tongue out just a bit when she is concentrating on stuff. I have funny facial expressions that I do subconsciously... We all do it.

But are you just showing him how to move his face so you can get in around his nose or something? Cuz that's all it looks like.

My problem is that my face is too serious while I'm painting... I was painting at the cinema and the lady in charge was trying to take pictures of me painting and she was like "umm... could you smile a bit???"

OMG...that seriously made me laugh out loud! I wonder if I do that....hmmm....

I make faces too. My daughter told me I look all creepy while I paint. At least the child's eyes are closed so they don't scream & run

Oh thats me too.. there are very few photos of me painting because I look terrible in all of them... my concentrating face is not photogenic at all, I just look like I am cringing the whole time.. the poor children must be wondering what on earth I am doing to them

I stick out my tongue alittle. My family has been making fun of me for yrs. When I cut hair they say I'm gonna get hair on it. What are we gonna do. We are artists. We are full of expressions and they pour out in weird ways!!!! lol

In some cases it might be that you're trying to show the paintee what you want them to do...I've found that sometimes when I'm about to create a shadow on their cheeks I'll ask them to make a fish face and they may not know what I'm talking about so I do it to show them what to do!

OMG... I'm laughing so hard right now! I thought me and my team just needed to learn to be more "friendly" or something. Thank you for sharing you guys. This makes me feel so much better about my own scary painting face.

I find myself concentrating really hard not to make my scowly face while I'm painting, but it's such a distraction keeping mindful of it and tenses me up NOT to. LOL

My whole team does it in one form or other. Elli purses her lips, tilts her head way back and looks like a bird of prey. Sonja tilts her head forward, turns her mouth into an upside down smile and her chin wrinkles really bad. Peggy tilts her head sideways, lifts her eyebrows and looks surprised all the time, like she's not sure what she's doing and the kid looks like he's wondering the same thing! LOL And I look intense & scary and don't get a smile out of them until I hold up the mirror.

I tell my team, "Just try really hard to keep a smile on while you're painting" but we all fail.

Ohmygandhi. Those are great faces. I usually hold my breath when I paint on the kids because I hate when people breathe on my face so i imagine those are some strange images.

too funny! I am always so serious. people are always always snapping pics while im painting....i never thought about what i look like in them! Good thing i never see them Think im gonna paint a smile on my face from now on. problem solved

haha I do the "feeding the baby face". You know the face when a mother is feeding their baby, and they do all the noises and faces to get their baby to eat....yup that's me!! I can't help it. If I want them to move their face around a certain way I automatically do it first LOL!!
