You want me to paint what??

So, this isn't really a question, more of a share.

Ok so here's the deal. I paint 5 days a week in a small local theme park. Today I have this kid come into the tent, all of 9 years old or so. I ask him what he wants to be painted and he points at his arm and says "I want you to paint a big pile of stinky poo on my arm" (He said it exactly like that.)

I laugh and look over at the parents...who are looking back at me like that is the most normal thing in the world. The kid was serious.

I say "I'm sorry. That's funny, but I'm not going to paint poo on you. Anything else I can try? Maybe something on my list?"

"A farting bum"

"OK, tell you what...(I'm still smiling) I admire your creativity, and if we were at your house I might give it a go, but here at the park let's pick something off the board ok?"

Parents "what you're not gonna do what he wants?"

I look back at the parents in mild disbeleif. I actually have to explain myself.

"OK seriously, if the lady that runs the park sees a kid walking up to him with poo painted on him, how long do you think I'm gonna have a job?"

Parents: "Whatever."

Ultimately we settled on batman.

I wasn't perturbed at the kid. He was just being a kid. On the other hand, the parents actually expecting me to paint turds on their kid was pretty weird.

Just another day at the office.

stupid question... do you have it on your board that people can make special requests??? If not then I woulda told them that I am not able to paint something that isn't on the board. Otherwise, I would of told them it was funny, but inappropriate for the location. Then chuckled...

this made me giggle pretty good... LOL

I have painted some dolphins that looked like $_it before, but not on request!

OMG sat here laughing, but peoples stupidity doesnt suprise me at all. And I thought buyoing my 5 year old son slime was out there.. maybe we are ready for fake poo!! No no thats just gross lol.

Pretty funny (and a bit sad!)

Some parents are just...wow. I'd like to think that when (or if) I become a parent, I'd act a little more sensible than some of the parents I've encountered as a face painter. But who knows!

Just glad that it wasn't me.

I've taped out some images when at certain functions... skulls with blood/etc at scout camp... stuff like that.

I simply tell them if they ask for something that I'm unwilling to paint for whatever reason that "it's not suitable for this event", "not appropriate"", etc...
I've had a few ask why, but, no one's argued with me as of yet. (thank goodness)

This is funny! You may have encountered a family of hecklers. They like to put entertainers in a tight spot and enjoy watching them squirm their way out of it.

HAHAHAHAHA! That's one of those stories you'll tell your grandkids and have them rolling on the floor. You handled it well!

I am probably in the minority, but so would've done it. I love a good challenge and something different.

Ho boy!!!! very funny for the kid, but the parents for sure were more amazing, how do you allow your kid to ask such a thing!!, kids are so cute and their imagination is incredible, but there is limits!, and that's why as a parents you are there for!!

You could have drawn a big brown pile with flies around it with steam coming out the sides. LMBO!
OR.... you could have just told your manager it was a Snickers. lol

I know I have painted something things that weren't supposed to look like what he asked....poop, a huge fart, but they did.

what would you even paint for a fart? butt cheeks and puffs of air? flies? EWWWW!

Here in Denmark there is a children's show with "guess a poo" and a popular book is called "the mole that wanted to know who had made a poo on its head"



So I would not be surprised to be asked to paint it. I don't think I would refuse, but explain that I don't think it very interesting to paint. (maybe on a mole). I don't paint bums, bare breasts or so to children's events.

That's one p.o.'d mole, lol. When I was about 10 a bird pooped on my head and it was *not* fun.

That book looks too funny! We have one here that all the little kids were reading awhile back called "everybody poops." It had all different kind of animals, and showed what their poop looked like. . .even people. Totally weird, but my little one thought it was great.

Think that children at some age just are very curious about such thing. Like at that age when they think it is funny using all the "dirty" words they have heard.
