More Painting..."Two Dragons"
So I got elected to be in charge of a Silent Auction for our Taekwondo annual 'Fundraiser' for America's Family...we raised over $27,000. So we did good! Ergo, and why I've been kinda absent for the last two weeks here on the Fourm!
I painted this oil painting and it auctioned for $135, so I was happy! Again, martial art 'Dragon' Theme on my behalf. I wish I'd had several copies...lots of folks wanted it! But I sold it as an original oil, so other than this picture...I don't have copies!
Female Dragon (Um or Yin) is the bluish white dragon with the teal green 'swirly' markings. The Male Dragon is (Yang) and is gold and reds with more 'spikey' markings. They are entertwined to show that while they may oppose each other and represent two sides of nature, they are dependent and necessary to each other. The Cintamani 'Pearl of Power' they both clutch represents Wisdom, Power and Omnipotence (creative powers).

Re: More Painting..."Two Dragons"
Thank you!
I'm trying to get inspiration for another painting, as a few folks asked if I'd just do some for them to buy, if the price was within their budget. I guess I need to try to figure out what their budget might be! haha
I'm thinking a Eureopean Style Dragon having tea with a Fairy might be a good next painting!
I'd really love to do some fairy art, like Amy Brown style work!
Thanks again ladies!

Re: More Painting..."Two Dragons"
You should really consider doing your paintings and then having high quality prints made of them to sell.
You can either keep the originals or sell them for much more. Then you can hand sign and number the prints and sell them in limited quantities.

Wow, it looks great! I would have bought that. My husband is crazy for dragons. Great job!
Re: More Painting..."Two Dragons"
Lisa,
I have thought about having prints made, do you know of any reputable sources where I could get copies made? I have some other paintings that I still have, that I could probably sell copies of. I just have no clue where to get professional copies made or where to start.
Thank you for any suggestions. I just don't want to spend alot and then have poor quality copies I'd get stuck with!
Thank you for the support and comments...I need to get up the nerve to just 'get out there' with my art. I've been putting this off for years, until I felt 'ready'!

Re: More Painting..."Two Dragons"
Check with your local Arts Council. They should know all of the good art print and frame shops in your area.
Re: More Painting..."Two Dragons"
Look up giclee printing... It's the artsyist way of making prints worthy of selling, as far as I'm aware. You could probably google it. There is only two printers of that nature in Indy, so there's bound to be one in your area.
Or, you could get your work photographed... wicked hard to do. You'd want it professionally done. Google that. Then you could send it off to get posters and whatnot made.
keep in mind I don't know any of this from personal experience! A friend was an art major.

I will start googling the giclee and profesionally photography. I actually got contacted by a friend (from years back) on Facebook that wants me to do a portrait of her children. ala, Andy Warhol style! haha...hrm....lots of reverse color imaging. She has a beautiful 'mod' take on her newly refurbished home. Should be fun!
Re: More Painting..."Two Dragons"
Very cool! It will be fun.
