Ok, I got some permissions! First I painted my face with rufous hummingbirds which I already posted here and are in my personal album.

Then here's the ones I have permission to share:

She asked for a snake fairy

Show and Tell #1 a Newbie "free for all" - Page 7 20121023

and a cat fairy

which sort of ended up being more an aquatic cat? I dunno. She was thrilled and I was enjoying myself.

Show and Tell #1 a Newbie "free for all" - Page 7 20121024

Then this person wanted eyebrows and lips and joined together

Show and Tell #1 a Newbie "free for all" - Page 7 20121025

I used separate brushes and (sponge for 1) for each person and then set those brushes aside after washing them. I washed my container between uses. I also used a separate papertowel if I had too much water on my brush. I also wiped my split cakes with a hypoallergic baby wipe between people. I also washed my hands obviously as well.

Using professional paints is new to me and so is really thinking about hygiene. I have no idea what my routine would be at a festival.

@ Tina - um, yea. Thanks I did freeze for a bit. Then I had two thoughts one of the serpent like water dragons in Asian art which are tooooo complicated for me as a newbie - then immediately after that I thought of like a flame - a sort of wispy firey snake with two sets of wings of course otherwise the body would be all droopy with just one set of wings. ha!

Leilani, you have a wonderful sense of creativity and imagination! Your paintings are just beautiful. Smile

Also, and you have to read this in my silliest "girly" voice:

Dear Newbies,

I has changed my avatar to somefing similar to Valerie and Dartiegirl, because I did wants to be one of the cool in crowd.

Then I did realised that Dartiegirl changed her avatar.

Dartiegirl doesn't love me.

I still have Valerie, though. We'll be in the corner. With the cheesecake and two spoons.

Love from Kammy xxx

Here are some designs I did today, trying to add a few more options for teens that aren't too "childish" and then I did the peacock because the colors are so pretty and I paid $12 for the cake and I wanna use it!! lol

Ooh, Tina - I like all of those! I like the top and bottom ones best. Your snow queen (as that's how I think of it) is gorgeous! What colours did you use for that? x

Yay!!! That's exactly what I intended it to be...a snow queen/princess hahaha.

I used the blue from Tag pearl rainbow and then smudged it around in TAG pearl white. I used a BAM stencil (because I have it and never use it) for the main snowflake a one on either side of my eyes (can't really see them in the photo) and then I just painted on the rest of the flakes/sparkle star thingies with wolfe white. I did the whole thing in under 3 minutes..it's super fast and I imagine would be a LOT quicker when done on someone else vs. myself lol My daughter refuses to be painted anymore (seems the kids had a good laugh when she went to school last week with residual paint stains on her hairline) she said it was "incredibly embarassing"...she's 8 and the kids all know I paint, so I am certain they weren't laughing at her to be mean...just a chuckle with a quick..."you have paint on your face still" but it was enough to turn her off from being my model now Sad and since I HATE being photographed this is a BAD turn of events.

The snow queen and the peacock are the second and third ones I designed on my own...so I really appreciate the compliments since I am so unsure of myself as a painter so far lol

Hi Other Newbie's! I have been painting for just over a year now but still consider myself brand new at this. I haven't posted any pictures yet but I thought that this would be a good place to post my little bit of jumping up and down news today. More of the telling part then the showing part I guess Smile I have so many bookings this month that I am going to break the $1000 mark!!!!! I haven't done that yet and when I did the math this morning I just about lost my mind. This is huge for my family. Like a lot of you I stay at home with our kids and my husband works and so we scrimp and save like crazy for everything so an extra 1000 bucks is easily like winning the lottery to me. I am so excited I could very well loose my mind. I just wanted to share my news with the face painting community. I am on here all the time, just not a big poster I guess. But this I just had to share. bounce

Hi Sarah, and welcome to our little newbie room! It's friendly here, and I'm sure you'll find your feet quickly.

Wow, $1000! I'm so pleased to hear things are going great for you! I'm sure this is the start of ever greater things for you and your family, and I hope you'll post some of your work soon for us to coo over. I'm a total newbie as I've only been painting around 6 weeks, so you'll certainly be much better than I am! sunny

Hi Thanks girls! I have to admit I feel a little more comfortable posting in the newbie section, not that the other painters on here don't seem wonderful but I just feel a little out of my depth with some of their stuff and so I am happy to have other noobs Smile that I can chat with and not feel like I'm dog paddling in the deep end. I will try and figure out how to post pictures and put some up here tonight or tomorrow

Ok, so I am going to try and post some pictures, see what you girls all think. Smile The unicorn is based entirely off of Lisa Joy Young, I just have always done uniforns differently then the way she showed. The eye design was me and my baby just having fun, the spiderweb I am not sure where I saw and the giraffe I saw on YouTube but don't remember who's it is based off of. Hope you guys like them! Man posting pictures for the first time is somewhat nerve-racking!
