Cheater texture stencils
I found these cute egg doilies at Dollar Tree today and they had a really cute design at the top and bottom that reminded me of a BAM stencil. Not as cool...but a cheap alternative; and, you can throw them away after you use them. I cut them in half so you could have 80 uses for a dollar or 160 if you cut them in quarters and used the sides for mask edging.
Re: Cheater texture stencils
Seeing a trip to Dollar Tree tomorrow! Thanks for the tip Denise. I LOVE cute and cheap!

Ohhhh I hope I can find something similar! such a cool idea dou! thanks!
Re: Cheater texture stencils
Sweet! Great idea! I love looking at stuff with new eyes.
When I worked at the zoo, everything at the dollar store instantly became some kind of monkey enrichment....now it's how can I use this for my display or painting, lol.

I love Dollar Tree. Bought a whole bunch of cute Easter stuff. But there are things like tin foil sheets, plastic baggies, spices and stuff like that we buy all the time.
Re: Cheater texture stencils
hmm going to have to start making trips to dollar stores with facepainting in mind... thanks for the great tip

Re: Cheater texture stencils
I was actually there looking for split cake containers! LOL!
I've been on the hunt since Maggie found those little watercolor containers but haven't had any luck. The closest thing was a box of tacks but it was too flimsy.
I guess I'm going to have to order these specimen boxes I found online but they are buck each with shipping.

Ooooh! Look at Zurcher's Denise! They have the watercolor party favor thingies! I saw them there just the other day.
Re: Cheater texture stencils
They don't have them on their website that I can see...but they DID have them at my store...so they might have them at your store.
Re: Cheater texture stencils
My dollar tree didn't have them, bummer!!

How funny! I've been on the hunt for those watercolor things ever since that darn Maggie posted that... it's all her fault!!! LOL

Re: Cheater texture stencils
Barb, that is really close but I think I'll just have to buy some new colored splits and take out my old paints and put on top. I wanted to repot my DFX white in a TAG sized container so I could put it in the case. I'm going to put pictures of the case in another thread.
Thanks so much though.
