I started to unpack my kit at a large party last night AND...

I had left ALL of my favorite colors, most of my splits, and all of my one strokes at home affraid Embarassed Evil or Very Mad
I was feeling a little sick to my stomach pale decided not to say anything and not put my photos out, but my flyer so I only had to say a few times that I don't have that color with me What a Face I didn't even have BLACK or WHITE luckily the split I did have had met. white and I used a dark maroon or blue in place of black .
It turned out great - was swamped all night -and many parents requesting me for their kids parties cheers

This what I had...

Oy! Glad you had something to work with, that could have been a pretty scary situation.

Oh sweetie, I know exactly how you feel! It's awful but you did the best thing really...pretend like it's all part of the plan! : ) I once forgot ALL my brushes to a party, and I'm a brush girl not a sponge girl, so this was devastating for me. Thank the heavens I only lived 10 minute drive away from the party and the Mum didn't mind too much me dashing home to get them! Shocked

You'll never do it again though I guarantee it!! Very Happy

Way to go making the best of it! I once forgot my brushes as well, had to send my husband back home to get them. I think I would die without my black and white though.

I always have tiny little panic attacks as I'm running out the door to a party, thinking I've always forgot something. The only thing I've ever forgot is my mirror, which isn't the worst thing I guess... the kids just kept running in and out of the bathroom to look at their faces. Laughing

well ...
Shannon the blue case is one that I some times keep in my every day bag (went to a friend birthday party the weekend before thought I might paint) I guess my bad memory was at it's best What a Face my regular case was shut on the table and thought it was ready to go . NOT!
so from now on I will be taking both cases or checking BOTH before I leave.

That is my nightmare. I am neurotic before leaving for a gig sometimes, pulling out of the driveway mumbling to myself...."brushes? check, water? check, chair? check"......I am sure I look like a whackado talking to myself like that.
Nice save though, will have to remember that you can replace black with blue or purple.

Wow! I'd have definately had a heart attack right then and there! I don't know what I'd do without my black or white, I literally use at least one, or both on pretty much EVERY SINGLE DESIGN I have. Fantastic save though! Those kinds of challenges really force us to grown and adapt quickly as artists... I think I might try that myself just once here at home, have my mom pick any random design that we do and I'll try to tackle it without white or black... hmm....

Great save! I have nightmares about forgetting stuff... I've left my glitter, my spray bottle & my white before.... It's survivable, but not fun...

Just goes to show what you can pull off when under pressure! I bet its given you more confidence though in using other colour combos that you previously maybe would not of used? and not to mention lots of inspiration for the future!
Job well done though! I would probably have had a bit of a panic attack too Smile

Oh my goodness.. fantasylandsuz, I LOVE LOVE LOVE your avatar. How beautiful! Going to try your double teardrop-per-leaf technique you used on that big flower. Gorgeous!

This is my worst nightmare too. SERIOUSLY. I would DIE! Good for you for pulling it off!
