Art in the Park Event
So Kathy and I got to paint at an event called, "Art in the Park"....it was nice paced and fun!
We actually had some breathing room and got to paint some of the more 'detailed' things that you usually don't have time to do...
I have my Poinsettia Butterfly/Fairy design on my business cards and on my display board...a couple of little girls wanted it really bad, so Kathy painted a quick (and unique!) version on one girl...and so I figured what the heck, get past those nerves and just do it...as there is rarely an opportunity where there is no line, they are paying and you get a nice photo opp too! I didn't get a picture of Kathy's, but it looked very beautiful! Both girls were thrilled!
Here is my original and here is the little girl!
I think it only took somewhere between 6-8 minutes...but I wasn't watching a clock, and there wasn't a line. It seemed slower than my usual 3-4 minutes... It was the first time I'd painted it on someone other than myself! It wasn't as detailed, obviously, and it wasn't perfectly matched on the sides (she was a bit of a wiggler)...but man did she smile! She strutted around the fair with her friend afterwards and I got several great comments from folks that saw it!
I know you have all seen the Mark Reid Serpent face, but what was so cute about this one, was it was requested by a little girl that had just turned 4 years old! Her dad was 'all onboard' with it and we just about died laughing as she was making 'scary faces' with it!
This last photo is of a girl that wanted a 'Pink/Glitter' Kitty face. She saw a basic outline in black and white in Kathy's sketch book and I then embellished on the spot. I was trying to match her pink hair clips. She loved it and man was it fast! I used the 'Diamond Gems' powder to give her a light sparkly base, and then used Paradise Dark Pink and then line work in Paradise Black...quick but so cute!
Thanks for letting me share! I had a great time, finally made a bit more money than usual and it was a lovely day spent with my friend Kathy and then we got to have a nice dinner and chat time with my sister afterwards!

Re: Art in the Park Event
We have an Art in the Park event here every year, but they charge such a fortune for a booth it totally isn't worth it. Glad it went well for you.... looks like you did some great work!

Perry....shhhhh....don't tell all the other vendors...but she waived my booth fee as she wanted me there so badly! I got to set up my tent for free. It was all profit.
Thank you ladies! It was great fun and I got about a thousand more 'butterfly' pictures too! hehe... I did several of the serpent, but that 4 year old girl captured my heart!
