Our new puppy, we are in love :)

We just picked up our puppy we adopted from a rescue group in MO, his mom was a puppy mill rescue.

Thank you ladies! His name is Sheldon, his 2 other brothers are Raj and Howard lol Howard got adopted by a family in my town, the rescue lady said this is the 1st time she had this happened since she has been doing rescue.

I already met with Howie's mom and we are planning many doggie playdates so the boys can see each other.

He is so cute and tiny, I had to make him a sweater with my husband old sock, the xxs clothes are huge. He weighs 2 lbs 4 oz, including collar, id tag and sock sweater.

Is he a Yorkie, or a mix? I have two Yorkies, and he looks just like they did when they were little.

Awwww, we think so too Suzy, that's the name the rescue group gave him and we decided to keep it because we love it! My kids like to call him
Shell-Shell.

Thank you Martha, when we decided we wanted to get a dog we knew we wanted to rescue one.

Funny thing is that I have always like dogs but never wanted to own one even though I grew up with dogs. Well, not sure if is that I am getting older but all the sudden I have made a 360 degree change, I am in love with our little guy and every single dog I see. Total mush I tell you

Diane, he is a full breed yorkie, his mom was a puppy milll rescue.

He is such a good boy too, he sleeps from 10 til 6 am and that is because I get him up to pee. He was being wee-wee pad trained before we got him and now he is doing it out side.

Ahh Maggie, he is adorable! And your kids look so happy. From the picture you can tell you have very sweet kids.

Yay for Yorkie love! My youngest is a rescue, too, but in a different way. He was set to be put down at five days old, because he was born with a cleft palate and couldn't nurse. I took him from the breeder and bottle fed him until he couldn't anymore, then tube fed him until he was weaned to hard food. He is our baby, and we couldn't imagine our home without him.

Awwwww Diane, that is so sad. I can't believe people have the heart to do that to a poor defenseless puppy. You have a big heart!

Maggie, it was actually in his best interest to put him down, because he was starving to death and at very high risk for pneumonia from aspirating the formula. But I'm stubborn and he really wanted to live. There were many times, through his first few months when I wondered if I was doing the right thing. He had pneumonia twice, constant sinus infections, and was severely underweight. But he made it. We were stubborn together, and now he will be four years old in April.

Dogs are awesome! Here's my honey and our boys (camera flash made their brown eyes blue- haha). We didn't pick them - they picked us. Not a puppy mill exactly cause she wasn't breeding to sell but the woman we got Jack and Bubba from had seventeen puppies she was trying to give away. When she let them all out of the pen, fifteen made a mad dash for the dog food bowls and our two boys ran to us as if to say "Please get us out of here!" Only went with the notion of one puppy but went home with two wormy runts who are now happy, healthy, devoted, and extraordinarily spoiled!
