Bec,

Thanks so much for standing up and apologizing. It takes a really big person to stand up and admit their wrong doing. Though I have found it is the most freeing feeling in the world.

We received Becstar's book also, and I have to say we are a bit disappointed. Not in the artwork, at all. The artwork as expected is amazing. But the book as a whole is not what we thought it would be. It came in a small envelope, (not padded) but the top of the binding was smashed, the top right corner is dog-eared, and there are several large dents around the front cover obviously from the shipping. Also, the content of the book is lacking. Not in beauty, but in the amount of artwork and the explanations of how they are done. Honestly, we love Becstar, but had we known how small the book was, we would not have purchased it. We are not the richest people in the world and were hoping for more for our money. And for 35.00 maybe a padded envelope. I look forward to seeing another book from her, and maybe this will help to get the ball rolling toward that, but we will definitely be reading the reviews first.

hahahaahahahah this is the funniest thread i have seen on this forum!!! i am in tears!!! I promised myself not to comment but i cant help it!!

Firstly, WHO CARES?????!!!! its a book and if you wanted to buy it, you would, regardless of who comments or reviews it!

Secondly, if i spent as much work on something as bec has with this book (regardless of what it was) i would defend it to the death too regardless if i was right or wrong!

Thirdly, seriously, if this whole thing 'annoys' you or your 'upset' or 'disagree' with anything said- IGNORE IT! get up off the office/computer chair, and go outside into the world and continue to live your lives.

I am a Aussie, and i dont think this is a big deal (i actually think its funny as hell). I call my best friends worst names then this on a daily basis. Ill still purchase the book. Ill still go to her workshops (looking forward to her coming to my hometown). Im just glad someone does go out of their way to produce these resources for us Aussies because we are forgotten a lot.

Just a quick thanks to all the people who got their knickers in a tangle. Gave me a good giggle! haha

The immature, laughing and pointing routine is neither welcomed nor appreciated here Amy. This is the review section and EVERYONE has a right to review products they've invested in, regardless of your low opinion of their reviews. I can't agree that I would defend anything to the death if I knew that to do so was wrong...I suppose it's that niggling integrity and self awareness thing that I'm sure you also consider to be a waste of time.

I'm not usually one to callously call out someone for their opinions, but when someone who doesn't seem to respect the opinions of others and does so with such a harshness to potentially run a new person off this site, I have to step on my soapbox.

If you like Bec...then good for you. If you disparage your friends and they stick around, good for you. But who are you to come here and degrade and devalue the opinions of others just because they don't share your same views? I suppose you see yourself as being on a higher plane than those of us who care about these things, but really, you're just being mean spirited. Feeling froggy?

you said it perfectly when you said -

"who are you to come here and degrade and devalue the opinions of others just because they don't share your same views?"

Enough said!

I did not disrespect or dishonor Shannons review in any way (in fact it is very professional and descriptive of the book- Thank-you Shannon), i just commented on the events ensuing the review. Which, in my opinion has been blown out of proportion, with everyones comments having a snowball effect.

And i do not disparage my mates. It is quintessentially an Australian thing, possibly just the area i live in, which obviously differs from other countries/cultures. A little 'ribbing' if you will.

I am not sugarcoating or dismissing comments said, however, i do not think it deserves the backlash it has caused thats all.

Rolling Eyes Plenty of Australians said they didn't like the book or her classes. It isn't a 'countries/culture' thing at all. I didn't see the book and I know nothing about it, so I have no opinion. Let's keep it nice though please. I enjoy the reviews because it gives me a bit of an insight to whether I would buy something or not.

wow. I have held myself back from commenting on this thread - I commented on the thread about the workshops and left it at that.... but AMy that post was very callous.
It leads me to believe that either you don't know the whole story and don't care ( obviously) ... or perhaps you were drunk.
People were getting upset and it was getting all sorted out and there were very nice apologies posted and then there's your post laughing at them.
It reads as very callous indeed. Are you the type of person who laughs at others who are upset or reconciling regularly?

I will never understand why people bother to post a "who cares?" type post..... if you don't care why did you bother posting.... *sigh*

Dammit I really didn't want this thread to keep going - I tried so hard not to post and failed. Sorry... I just don't understand people that can laugh at others misfortunes.
