Jeanette...lolol at u girl, takes one to know one. I always love reading your posts. I truly did not get to spend the time I wanted to with you at Fabbulas and I really hope that another opportunity for our paths to cross will present itself soon.

Shannon don't sweat the small stuff and on to the next.

Phfft... don`t worry about me. I`ve been yelled at by CWOs on the parade square... whining divas and their minions are mere gnats.

It says:

Take it as you will, clearly there will be things that work differently to you or products you think work better etc. End of disclaimer :-)

Again, CHILDISH!

It could just be an Aussie thing and therefore a cultural clash of sorts. We do tend to call a spade a spade and be quite opinionated...whether that opinion is right, wrong or indifferent is always up for debate depending on the audience.

That is the stereotype of aussies anyway....that and drinking a lot! Smile

Calling a spade a spade is one thing (and I am pretty much know for that myself) but calling a donut a penguin is another kettle of fish entirely. geek

"An Aussie thing"???????? scratch No - don't think so, besides the fact that what has been going on has NOT been calling a spade a spade. Hasn't this been going on for nearly a week now? Is she ever going to have the "Ah ha" moment and stop?

You know, I have to say....as a new FPer, I really had no idea who Bec Anthony was, let alone that she had a book out UNTIL I read Shannon's review of it. As far as I can see the review actually helps her in that it gets word out about who she is & what she does (for those who don't know) & that she has a book for sale. You can't buy something if you don't know it exists!

And a review is supposed to give the reviewer's opinion of the pros AND cons of something...if the cons are just edited out, then it's not a good review. Anytime I read a review that is all glowing, with no mention of any drawbacks or negatives then I get immediately suspicious...that's not a review, it's 'advertising'.

You may be "new" but you hit the nail on the head honey! Shannon's review did not hurt her at all BUT all the crap following said review has certainly fostered a lot of ill will in the "community" which is entirely CHILDISH! and yes I will continue to put CHILDISH in all caps hoping that someone will see it.

oy, imagine if every review caused 5 pages of discussion, Shannon at least you have the pleasure of knowing you are a professional who has remained so. I bought the book before I found your review, I think your review was accurate well thought out and above all - your opinion.

Post by elantaura Mon Jan 30, 2012 8:49 am

you know before this thread had any comments. I read briefly shannons review. Thought about it and thought, yeah I will get it. didn't come on the forum for a few weeks - for a lame reason I was playing PS3 became addictive.
then needed to buy some stuff online, (and get back to reality- LOL) I remembered the book and purchased it - based on Shannons review may I add as that is all I had at the time to go on. about 2 or 3 hours later loged on here and thought what the...

The review basically sold a book, had I known about all the other stuff that followed I doubt I would have bought it, I would have purchased a diffrent book.
So I fail to see how your review could be a bad thing, when effectivley you sold it? well to me at least, but I am sure there are others who did similar, and still may.
at least you are getting blog hits from it all I can say!!
it is all so stupid.

Post by beccy anthony Wed Feb 08, 2012 2:19 am

Thanks to those who replied to this post

I would like the chance to clear a few things up.

When Shannons review came out I was happy to read it, i did respond with my '2 cents' and left it at that.

I never once said anything about Shannon and in fact I took in what she said and wish to improve on things in the future.

My posts on facebook had nothing to do with the review... . I posted a status on facebook which lasted only 1 day then it was all back to normal.

Before anyone jumps to any conclusions about my character I would really appreciate a bit of a break, I am just another artist doing my thing, i dont hate on anyone or anything and would really love if everyone would cease being so mean and judgmental.

I am human and have bad days, I cant help that.... i am an emotional person and sometimes I express that.

I dont believe in judging people without knowing them.

Thanks

Bex, I'll start by saying that I do think that you are an absolutlety amazing and talented artist. I enjoy your videos very much and appreciate you taking the time to make them. I'm sure that you put a great deal of work, money, and YOURSELF into your book. It is probably very much your "baby" and I can understand you being highly emotional about it.

All that being said, I must tell you that I respect Shannon immensely for the way she puts herself out there to provide info and help to anyone who needs it. I have never met her but I have "judged" her to be a caring, giving, talented, straightforward, no B.S. type of person.

I followed the drama on Facebook. Despite the fact that you have subsequently deleted the comments (you did miss a couple) and cleaned up your disclaimer, you cannot change the fact that there was a ridiculous amount of name calling and crap being said in "support" of you. You could have easily stifled it all with a mature post but it appeared that you were enjoying the "support". Like it or not, we ARE judged with each word we say, each action we do, and even each action we fail to do.

I sincerely hope that, as a respected professional, if you do another book you will be able to take a critique "on the chin" and not let it snowball into a subsequent drama.
Also hope this is taken in the spirit that it is intended. I'm not trying to be mean -- just open and honest with how I feel about the whole situation.

On the record.

Not once have I ever had an issue with Shannon, I NEVER publicly or privately said anything about her as I dont believe in bad mouthing someone whom I have never met. I never wrote anything about her or anyone else on any public forum, social network or anything of that nature. I have NEVER called her any names or said anything to her that may be misconstrued.

As mentioned I welcomed shannons review, took it in, gave my opinion back and that was the end of it. I NEVER gave it a second thought 24 hours after reading it.

My facebook is my facebook, i can choose to do whatever i like, I took many comments off it a very long time ago as i dont believe in focusing on the negative, again for the record my clean up had nothing to do with Shannon or anything like that.

This whole situation has been blown out of proportion and would appreciate if everyone focused on themselves and there lives instead of focusing on something so trivial as this.

If you no longer wish to follow my work please remove me from your facebook or any other network you may be following.

To those who actually know me, I welcome you to continue supporting me and my work.

I will not be posting anything else on this thread.

Thanks

You obviously missed the disgusting comments on Facebook Gaebell- very personal attacks and Bec allowed it to happen. Infact, publicly thanked people for their "support and love", below half of these comments.

Why should it be deleted? They were comments on her behaviour. Why is that a problem? If you act in such a way, then expect backlash. It was opinions in a select community that will not tolerate abuse from someone's fanbase who posts on Facebook and deliberately doesn't bother to let those people who said the comments, know that it wasn't due to "haters" as she let them believe.

You clearly don't know what was said, and if you do, I question why you think that that would be ok.

Bec this is what you wrote, copied and pasted. I'm pretty sure that "arseholes" is name calling? It was on a public forum for all to see. The thing is, you know that what has happened is true, and unfortunately what is put out there can't be taken back.

Post by Metina Thu Feb 09, 2012 7:57 am

Hiya,

I got several message from Bec on this matter and she really wants all of this to go away and I think we all agree. I have told her that I feel that we all have to take responsibility for our own guilt in this and the best way to make this all go away is to publicly take responsibility for our actions, apologize and ask that we all move on.

I do so hope that we can all "put our big girl panties" on and take care of what we need to take care of.

I will start.
Bec, I am sorry I didn't respond sooner to your messages.

Forum members, I am sorry that I didn't program the blocked words censor strongly enough and the word "assholes" made it to the forum.

We all have to realize that posting hateful messages on the net is PERMANENT. Write hot, send cold.

Have a blessed day,
