Becstar workshop in Sydney... Anyone here going?

I am really excited about my very first face painting workshop in Sydney with Becstar this week. Is anyone here going to any of Bec's workshops, and will anyone here be in Sydney?
Has anyone been lucky enough for the first round last week on the Gold Coast? What did you think?

I won't be there - but I am in Sydney if you want to graba coffee....lol

What is she teaching?

She only did one very recently - zippers... everyone you see with a zipperdesign on their face went to her class.... so because it was so recent it doesn't surprise me she would have trouble filling up this one.
I got invited to go out for drinks with her on Friday - no painting just getting to know everyone - so if you are in Sydney on Friday you might like to come along?
I'm saving my pennies for PASHUR!!!! in NOVEMBER I paid my deposit yesterday. $300 - for 2 days 10am - 9pm with lunch thrown in - dinner you have to pay for.... but soooooooo worth the money.
I don't think Bec's is good for the money - I mean she is already here in OZ so she shouldn't be chargeing THAT much..... just my oppinion.

Yes, it is a king's ransom! But I admire her style and I may not have the time/opportunity to go to another workshop in the future, when I go back to my job after maternity leave in a few weeks, so I am making the effort this time - and hoping the investment pays off - eventually.
Time will tell, as they say Until then, I will continue to have a dent in my c/c.

I'm heading back up the coast on Friday morning - a girls weekend with my besties in Port (I grew up in Sydney and most of them still live there). I have a great week ahead!

It would be great to have a coffee with you, thanks for the offer, but I'm not sure I'll have a minute to spare. I have family to catch up with too, and my baby boy will be tagging along with me. Oh, I had better go and pack!!!

When and where is Pashur going to be in November? im WAY behind the eight ball with these things!

I am coming to Sydney for 2 Face Paint Workshops on Nov 14th and 15th. In each day of the workshop, I will be showing cool, fun practical designs that will make you money!!! For those who have never taken a workshop with me, I pack the workshop with tons of useful info, techniques, demos and exercises.

NOVEMBER 14: SUPER BOY DESIGNS
On Monday, November 14th I will cover twelve boy designs, face paint exercises and go over Tips on Face Painting, Marketing and Landing Gigs. Demos Include: Transformer, Dragon, Shark, Tribals, Flames, Spider, Snake, Scorpion, Rocket, Tribal Skull, Zombie Kiss and Stitches.

NOVEMBER 15: SUPER GIRL DESIGNS
On Tuesday, November 15th I will cover twelve girl designs, face paint exercises and go over Tips on showing the Perfect Portfolio to land a gig. Demos Include: Fancy Fantasy Linework, Sparkling Fairies, Mermaid, Tropical Eye Design, Glitter Butterfly, Wicked Rose Tattoo, Sparkling Jewelry, Heart Tattoo, Fast Leopard Spots w/ Eye Design, Mermaid Scales, plus my Top 2 Selling Board Designs.

DETAILS: Hands-On and Demos, Sponge & Brush Face Painting

CLASS SIZE: Only 12 people max each day.

LUNCH: Lunch is from 12pm – 1pm. Lunch is included on both days.

DINNER: Dinner is from 6pm – 7:30pm. Dinner expenses are on your own.

COST: $200AU for 1 day $300AU for both days
Because the workshop is just 1 month away, some of you might not have $300 to drop for a workshop coming up so soon. So if you want to take both workshops and you send me a $125 deposit, I will give you til Nov 5th to get the balance in. This applies to people signing up for the Sydney workshop only.

Hey Trinkie - can you tell me what she is teaching?
I got an email about it but it was so long ago now I can't find it.
Becstar has great technique and a lot of tricks under her belt so I"m sure it will be fun and you will learn a lot - I"m just wondering what she is teaching and for how much?..... do you get lunch? lol

Sooo keen to go!!! would happily pay that much to go its just the flights and accom that will be the killer! time for sucking up to the bf to let me go!!!!

Tash, as I understand it, Bec is teaching what we ask her, more or less. At least for the first two days. The third day is body and the fourth is special effects, or maybe the other way round. The cost for 2 days is... $450.
Sounds like Pashur's workshop is a little more affordable, but I have work on that weekend anyway, so this is my chance to learn from a real life pro.

Lunch no, snacks yes... I had better make sure I pack my brushes next. My head "Dolly" is in my bag. I wonder what the folks on the x-ray machine will think? Will they go through my bag I wonder.

I tried to get into the pashur one as soon as it was advertised one monthish ago twice never got an email back. as the oaks is not far from me. I was going to pay for FABATV tommorrow. but how did you get into Pashur? I followed the link on Amy griggs page? do I just email to get a pay pal link?

Just paypal the money to him - if you don't get in they will send you the money back.... well I'm assuming - just email Pashur and ask if there is still room maybe.

I'm driving 10 hours each way with a friend to keep me company but we haven't found accommodation yet... can you recommend a cheap place for 4 nights coz after petrol and food expenses we're dirt poor

the oaks is'nt far from campbelltown. The cheapest place there is the formula 1 it is very basic bed ,bathroom the type with alarm clock glued to the table etc but the cheapest.

I am in liverpool and I am about 45 minutes away, the area itself camden, picton is sort of a getaway are so will cost Picton, and camden expensive suburbs in general.
Menangle is horse country not much accomodation (used to have one there for 10 years) there are others but they will cost alot more. it is about a half hour drive from campbelltown.
the next cheepest would be I think poplar caravan park (in camden)

The Oaks is in North Sydney isn't it? Sorry, I'm clueless.

alright this is my fault there is a hotel fuction centre called the oaks (in the oaks ) which I assumed it was i.e. double oaks and there is 3 other hotels called the oaks in the sydney basin. as I don't know exactley where, what etc. I retract what I said, and further to that I have no idea which the oaks it is. there is the oaks hotel, the oaks in the oaks and the oaks group, the oaks resort, ???? all hotels??? I am now very confused?

I am so sorry, I assumed it was the oaks near me as on the amy griggs site said a 60min drive from Sydney which would be true of the oaks I thought it was. I appologise so much for giving anyone a bum stear.
Acctually I want to know which oaks now as if its north sydney i won't go have a fear of driving around there.

Hold the phone! There's an entire suburb called the Oaks about 60 mins from Sydney.... Could this be what they're refering to??

Or is that what you've been saying all along "The Oaks in The Oaks" ???

it was my assumption. but after the north sydney thing I googled oaks and hotel got confused. The oaks as a suburb is a nice area has a winery, I used to ride to on my horse years ago. have spent 20 years of my 31 in the liverpool/campbelltown area. Still it is an assumptionand google has thrown me now. I would double check, if it is the oaks the suburb. the info I gave is good. If it is anywhere else IGNORE it as bad advise.
I just don't know.

I'm not so good on cheap places to stay - there's always formula1 but who would want to be there for 4 nights.

I would check out Wotif.com - I get really good hotel deals through them especially if you are staying more then two nights.

Alternatively I can offer you a blow-up matteress in my dinning room.... far from glamorous but completely free!

Because I know the area I would be happy to look for a cheap place for you if you like.

As far as I know eleantura is right and it's out near Cambelltown
I think Annie lives out that way.
