SuzySparkles wrote:I have never heard of FWW paint... Is that a liquid paint? What does it compare to? Worth trying/buying?
It's a creme, with the most beautiful colors and blending ever. Not for brush work at all.

Re: Green Fantasy Sponges?
I love FWW but the colors.......... I guess I just see them different than Jenny.
The sparkle colors - great, love that lighter blue but some just don't work on guys and most non-euro ethnic skin tones.

Re: Green Fantasy Sponges?
Looks like she is only selling Wolfe sponges.
Glad I got some!!! lol.
But really the premium ones SF sells (And some regular tack sponges from the feed store I cut up) are just about the same for me as the Green Fantasy ones.
I use large scissors or a regular carving knife to cut up the large tack sponges then just trim the rough edges when they are the size I like

Re: Green Fantasy Sponges?
I hate to tell you this but if you bought Wolfe sponges you were robbed... The tack sponges have gone up a little in price over the last year or so, but still...

Re: Green Fantasy Sponges?
I have never bought the Wolfe ones so I can't really comment about those, I think they are Paradise ones I had, but I got some GF ones last time I ordered American FacePainter mag.

Re: Green Fantasy Sponges?
I ordered and just received (30) "SYNTHETIC ART, PAINTING, CRAFT SPONGES ~WHOLESALE" with free shipping for $9.99. After checking them out I am thinking about ordering another (30). After that, I shouldn't have to order sponges for a long time!
I did a test applying paint on my arm and although they are not as soft as the Snaz sponge I had been using it applies the paint nicely. I probably wouldn't know a good sponge from a bad sponge though, so take it for what it is worth!

green sponges
Dfx has them on their website. They are really soft and I tried them all. Luckily, one of our local vendors has them so I don't have to pay the shipping, OTW- it is pricey. Metina, will you carry them in your store soon?
Re: Green Fantasy Sponges?
I bought the wolfe sponges and I really like the stiffness. It allows me to do designs faster then I could with the snazz sponges. Plus they are bigger. I'm just afraid of buy these tack sponges and it not being same stiffness as the wolfe.

Re: Green Fantasy Sponges?
I'm a fan of the carwash sponge, $1.99 cuts into about 60 pieces with scissors, I like having them in a variety of shapes and sizes so I can use what I need. (some are the right size for rainbow cakes, some have the right edge for dragon horns...) I'm an at least one sponge per person painter, don't double dip and I like the density for blending as well as the value.

I second that motion!
There is an aussie site that has these sponges and as far as I know that is where Mark Reid and Christina Davidson get theres from, there was a call out on the Aussie forum with American Painters trying to get their hands on them.
The site is www.alwayswickedart.com.au...... I'm trying to remember I think her name is Robin..... jeeze I'm hopeless with names.
Can't help you out with the shipping though, sorry.
Re: Green Fantasy Sponges?
Her name is Beckster. She is an amazing Aussie artist.
Check out her site. It is so inspiring.

Re: Green Fantasy Sponges?
Does anyone have any pics of their carwash made sponges? Shapes? Tools udes to make them? I cut one up & it looked all uneven. I went for makeup wedge shaped.
Re: Green Fantasy Sponges?
It is a sponge... who cares if it is lopsided???
I usually cut with large scissors... squish them flat as possible and cut.

Re: Green Fantasy Sponges?
I have a whole bunch that I cut from a car wash sponge and I hate using them... the corners that I end up with just really bug me... I always reach for my semicircle sponges first. I only use the others if I run out of the good ones. I should make a trip to the tack shop and see if I can pick up a bunch of those sponges so I can throw away my hacked up ones.
Re: Green Fantasy Sponges?
Here are some I cut from a carwash sponge, used some up at a birthday party on the weekend. As I said I like the different shapes and sizes for different edges, designs, uses...
I decided to cut up the other half quickly to show how many sponges I got, just took a few minutes and here they are 35 more for 1.99 at Canadian Tire!
Re: Green Fantasy Sponges?
A few have wonky edges, but that's 70 sponges for 2 bucks, and I know parents are happy to see me use a clean new sponge for their child no matter what shape it is.

Re: Green Fantasy Sponges?
What kind of sponge is that Suzy? It's quite porous, how does it work? How soft?
