Have you had trouble with your supplies blowing away? This is my first outdoor event and it has to be blowing like a hurrican! Not happy! Off to find a bucket....

Re: Painting designs on a menu board
Im trying to use some pre cut faces I got at one of the hobby/art stores ( michaels, or Joann's). They come in 3 colors - cream, tan, and dark brown. I using snaz paints for most. Painting on these is a challenge getting the colors opaque. Any thoughts on how to make them darker?

Did the art event yesterday and I went ahead and put concrete in my PVC and I did the bucket in the center with 30lbs inside the bucket and still almost went airborn a few times! We had 60mph gusts and I couldn't put up any signage of anything on my tent. I was exhusted afterwards from doing the event, stress from the wind blowing everything around and when I did paint I dealt with my paint drying instantly and their hair blowing in my way! Argg... I won't go if it's blowing like that again. Not fun! I feel for the 50 vendors who are out there fighting the wind again today! I'm staying home, putting a nice pot of homemade soup on and watching TV! (well... and occassionally getting online)
Vegas Mom, I've done some similiar and I'd just keep layering a few more coats of paint on it. You may have to use a brush to dab in more paint where it get too sheer. I had thought of using Mod Pogge in a matte finish to give a seal and then paint the design. I didn't try it but it was my thought if I did it again. I even used some for another project that I tried to spray paint them and I couldn't get the paint to show up, it just soaked it right up. That's when I thougt about the Mod Podge idea. Good luck!
