No more menu board Empty No more menu board

I have recently stopped using a menu board at birthday parties and corporate events. It seems like when I have the menu board, the children's imaginations become limited to what they see on the board. It has now been three times I haven't brought it, and I swear, it went off without a hitch!
After reading all the comments from users here who say they do just fine without one, I thought I would give it a go, and ya'll were right! I personally think it's BETTER without it. I mention that I can do just about anything, and suggest they think of their favorite animal or character while they wait. The parents get involved and everyone has a good time thinking and choosing their designs. PLUS it alleviates a million kids crowded around my board. I am loving it!

(I think I would still use the board at carnivals and fests though)

It really is true freedom! I've not used a board in years & love it! I do keep my board for PPF, because it gives people something to look at while they're waiting in line & there's no wasted time on deciding a design once they reach you(time is money:-).

Yay! I just recently tried this myself for the first time. It was so liberating. I had a 5 day gig at a shopping centre and no board. I was taking a book of pics to parties. So I just took a chance on requests. I loved the stronger reactions coz they have no expectations. It was fun. The only down side was I painted soooo many more butterflys, tigers and spiderman than I'm used to! So pros and cons to both.
